MEAN QUIZ COMMENTS

I have really enjoyed my membership with sploofus, and like many of you, upgraded my account to help support sploofus as it grows. I also recruited my mother, aunt, and several friends, all of whom enjoy sploofus as well, are paying members, have contributed quizzes, and play daily. Unfortunately my aunt has been on the receiving end of some ill spirited quiz comments. A certain sploofus member feels the need to send my aunt a negative comment on every quiz she writes. I am all for helping each other out, giving suggestions, questioning answers with which we disagree, but this sploofus member seems to have a mean streak in the way he approaches her. These comments do not go so far that they need to be reported, but are generally unpleasant. Often, the comments are in regards to the validity of an answer. If my aunt sends this member her sources, the member replies with another ugly remark. While it is not against sploofus rules to be unpleasant, its almost shocking when encountered on this site, as every member I have met thus far has been lovely to me. I write this on the off chance that the perpetrator may glance at it, see himself, and realize that criticism can be not only helpful, but friendly.
To everyone else, thank you for making sploofus a site on which rudeness IS still shocking.

Sometimes the best answer is no answer. I would suggest your aunt simply delete his e-mails without looking at them, knowing his pattern of responses. You always lose whenever you try to wage a reasonable defense with an unreasonable person.

There's also the option of blocking any emails from that individual. On the top of the Sploofus Messaging page, there is a Blocked Senders List option. She can click on that and list the offender's name so she won't have to be annoyed or irritated any further.

I had to block Smaug because he kept sending me love letters. I like facial hair but the beard to his naval was just too much.

Thanks for my best laugh this morning, Lodi! Think what creepy crawlies might be lurking in that long beard - especially since it sounds as though they are fed beer quite frequently. Whatever they are, I assume they are quite happy!

The beard is not creepy, and it is from the navel down, so get your facts straight.

I've already blocked some people. One seems to think he is perfect & that if other quiz creators aren't perfect they should become so. Well, I'm not & have never claimed to be perfect - I make mistakes like everyone. The funny thing is he hasn't created near as many quizzes as I, so maybe he hasn't made an innocent mistake in one of his quizzes, but I'm certainly not purposefully striving to mess up his (or anybody's) rankings on the leaderboards.

When I come across stuff in other people's quizzes that I know or highly suspect to be wrong, I don't speak to them like he spoke to me, and if I'm not totally sure I will try to look it up before I send them a correction.

I don't think constantly being mean/insulting & beligerent in regards to other people's quizzes is the right of anyone playing here, especially so if they are usually being ugly to others. People can insult you w/out actually saying, 'you're dumb.' Just as they can let you know, w/o being ugly, of a correction you MAY need to make.

There are just some people that want you feel bad because they do, so their actions are designed to target others & pass it on. It makes them feel good - to make you feel bad: they are not worth the time it takes to read their ill-mannered, poorly constructed msgs.
