I am notorious for clever and deceptive gift wrapping, but I might have crossed a line. My daughter complained that we need new Christmas paper. We have 15-20 rolls, some unopened. Anyway, I bought a brand new roll, and just finished wrapping it for her to open on Christmas. Am I in trouble?

15-20 rolls of paper? Merry Diogenes Syndrome.

Have your camera ready for that moment when she unwraps her wrapping paper, Steve. You'll all get a good laugh out of it for years to come! That's diabolically clever, befitting your newly acquired pitchfork.

you're about as funny as my brother.

one year after repeatedly hearing our Dad say he didn't want anything for Christmas, brother went to a local furniture store and got an empty appliance box.. i think it was for a stove... anyway he wrapped it beautifully complete with huge red bow and ribbon. When Dad opened it, brother said "i hope that's enough 'nothing' to last you all year!"

It's too bad you couldn't get M.C. Escher or Felix Klein to help you wrap it. You could have wrapped it in itself!

I hope you wrapped in "new" wrapping paper and not the stock you have on hand. Remember, it's the thought that counts.

I am an opportunist shopper. I will buy something on sale in July, or on vacation, that is just right for someone.

I can also tell you the story of the special "Trojan Horse," but the world in general is not quite ready for that one, I am afraid.

I've got a brother like yours, Chyenn - one year a big mysterious parcel appeared outside our back door, about three feet tall, and addressed to me, for Christmas. I was young enough at the time to get very excited about this, and couldn't wait until Christmas day!

The big day came, and I unwrapped the box - to find another wrapped box inside; and inside that box was another, and another, and another, and so on - eventually, quite a few unwrapped boxes later, in a much smaller box I found ... a pair of sugar mice!

I nearly killed the little b**stard!

Mind you, he must have put some work and thought into putting that present together, so if you take it as "the thought that counts", it's probably the best present I've ever had!!
