HARDWARE STORE

My fave WP ever.
Sadly, Lowes and Home Depot turn out the lights when they see me pull into the parking lot.

I went into Home Depot when we were remodeling our guest house. You know the Home Depot commercials where the helpers run up to help you and even understand what you want just be looking at you? Apparently none of those people worked in the Home Depot where I went. When they saw me walking through with my list and big bewildered eyes, they scurried away like cockroaches.

It was unfun and I will be the first to admit that I have no business in a hardware store.

When will I ever learn not to do WPs at 11:00 p.m. Coupled with the fact that I was never taught which end of a hammer to use and half the nails had the points on the wrong end, I too should not enter a hardware store.

Needless to say, when I got the answers - they were simple but it sure took a long road getting there.

Maybe the morning will be better.

I HAD FUN WITH THIS ONE AS WHEN I WAS A TEENAGER BACK IN THE MIDDLE AGES I HAD TO HELP MY DAD DO ALL OF THE REPAIRS, I WAS THE OLDEST SO I WAS TREATED LIKE I COULD DO IT ALL EVEN TO ROOFING AND LAYING SIDEWALKS. PLUS MY DAD OWNED A GAS STATION THAT DID CAR REPAIRS AND I EVEN HELPED THERE, SO I PRETTY WELL LEARNT THE NAMES OF EVERY TOOL. AND NEEDLESS TO SAY SOME OF IT HAS COME IN HANDY EVEN NOW. CHARLOTTE

Interesting about your Home Depot. It's just the opposite here. Home Depot employees go way beyond the call of duty to help in my state. But Lowes? I'll never go back. My last trip to Lowes was about 30 minutes before closing time. I needed something on a high shelf beyond my reach. There were THREE employees standing in the main aisle, and I asked them if they could help get the product down for me. They said they could help. One walked over to a courtesy phone and announced for someone to come help me! Needless to say, I had to remind myself that being a lazy, sorry a** employee is NOT a capital offense.

That was just for Jank for being such a discerning hardware customer! Our Home Depot people are the best! They help me find stuff, get it down for me, tell me what I need to go with it, cut it to the size I need, and help me hump it to the car with a pleasant friendly attitude.

Maybe it's got something to do with the Tony Stewart shirt, hat, sunglasses and fanny pack. Maybe it's my orange Crocs. Maybe it's just cuz I'm so darn cute.

These Crocs have never, WILL never darken the threshold of a Lo...L...L...nope, my fingers refuse to type the L word.

HOME DEPOT RULZ!
