I have 11 employees (all women, Lord help me). Last year I made them all a really nice plate with their names on it. Don't think I will have time to make things this year, so if anybody has any ideas I'd really appreciate it.

Also, I have to decorate my office door for the supervisor "decorate your door" contest and I'm fresh out of ideas. I did a Christmas tree last year and the year before I did a fireplace/mantle.

Hi Sheri...I don't know how much money you were planning to spend per person, but here is an idea for you:

I have several of these ornaments; they are really beautiful and there is quite a large selection to choose from.

Truffles or other decadent chocolates people generally don't buy for themselves are a great gift. I don't know how much you intend to spend on each person but I like to buy people those little hot plates for candles and a Christmas scented candle in a glass jar. There are also these wonderful little boxes of spices you can buy, usually at a Hallmark store or something similar that you add to apple cider or red wine, and put in a crock pot. Its AMAZING. I think its made by Aspen. And a new Christmas ornament is always appreciated.

For your door, make it a gingerbread house with real frosting & candy.

Have fun!

I might forgo the real frosting on Lodi's suggestion but I love the candy idea. Make the gingerbread house and attach wrapped candies. After the judging is over, as your employees to help themselves to the candy so you won't have leftovers when the contest ends.

Or maybe you could find a large burlap bag for Santa's sack and have toys tumbling out of it.

Salzypat's idea is great, include a note on the burlap sack that says "after the judging is over, toys will be donated to "Toys For Tots" or "Salvation Army" or something like that. Let that be your gift to your staff.

I've gotten so I get gift cards lately. I know they may seem impersonable, but it gives the person a chance to get whatever they want...and these days you can get them as a Visa or Mastercard so they can be spent anywhere that takes those cards.

your door could be place of recognition for the hard work you staff has done all year. your door would be the entrance to Santa's workshop. take some candid photos of your staff and paste their faces on drawings of elves. then arrange them on the door doing their various jobs. We all know that Santa could never get things done without his elves.

I love gift cards too! Something about walking into Starbucks with your gift card, knowing you don't have to pay for a couple of outrageously priced drinks makes you feel like a princess...well, temporarily anyway.

I like gift cards to the movie theaters, such as AMC gift cards. That way you get your ticket and snack, too. Gift cards to Blockbusters are neat, too.

LOL, Felix (and Smoke for the Sploofus Gold idea)! I would never give anybody something made with pork, though!

Thanks again, everybody for the fabulous ideas (and for the PMs I received). With your help I know I will be able to come up with something that all my employees will enjoy.

Sploofus People Rock - God Bless!
