SPLOOFUS ISLAND HOLIDAY PARTY

I'm setting up the bar, ordering the hors d'oeuvres and CD's for the karaoke machine.

I need drink requests (so I am sure to have enough to make them), favorite hors d'oeuvres, and the titles of songs you might get up an sing after a few hours of partaking in holiday cheer.

We will have DD's and sleeping quarters available, as well as non-alcoholic beverages for those who prefer them.

Decorations will not include anything with lampshades, just tiki torches!

There will be film at 11 and DVD's to order for those who might want them!

If you are bringing a friend let me know!

Dry martini with a twist. Caviar on toast with chopped onion and chopped egg. Some Jimmy Buffett or Bob Marley. Heck, it is an island after all!

I'll have, in the spirit of the event, an eggnog with a shot of rum, cinnamon instead of nutmeg.

For Horse Dovers I would like a checkerboard made of squares of yellow and white cheeses. Those rectangular things of Kraft Cracker Barrel Cheese are perfect for making it. For checkers I want Ritz crackers topped with a swirl of salmon mousse on one side and slices of cucumber topped with a wedge of smoked salmon on the other side.

After that, a bottle of Laphroaig and a snifter will keep me satisfied.

I eat or drink almost anything not fussy. We need We Are Family by Sister Sledge for Chickie, Lodi, Donna, Marsha, Lorri, Pepper, Kelley, Etc. & me Maybe Mercedes Benz by Janis Joplin, for those of us that can't sing

Virgin Mary's for me, strawberry daiquiri or pina colada if I don't have to drive, only one or two, though. I can bring a shrimp mold-a dip- or California onion dip. Oh, and low sodium Ritz, please, and Zapp's unsalted potato chips.

I would like a frozen pina colada with just a little bit of grenadine to make it pink, and some crab rangoons.

I do a mean whisky toddy, but you'll have to have me over to make it myself!
It's a combination of whisky, water, brown sugar and one or two secret ingredients, involving heating the lot and setting fire to it as it pours back and forth between saucepans to mix.
Great party trick!
But it also produces a hot whisky drink, the fumes of which multiply the effect of the whisky by a million or so!

(Randy, when I think of "We Are Family" I think about Gene Hackman dressed up in drag as a disguise leaving that Miami nightlclub in "The Birdcage" with Robin Williams - very funny.)

I'll have a Peach Bellini (after all must have a basic food group!) and sausage balls.
...and I don't want to hear that it's a sissy girly drink.

OMG Martin, I haven't tried that. I like captain morgan's spice rum & diet coke myself. Or some Black Butte porter will go nicely.

Hey Martin - every have a Guiness milkshake? Vanilla ice cream, blender, vanilla, and Guiness. Yum!

I'm bringing my chimps, Horatio and Smedley. They must have fresh breast milk from a Latino wet nurse.

And, listen, I mean MUST, so be forewarned....

I like Yukon Jack shots with a Becks chaser but I would like to remain conscious a little longer than usual for this one. As soon as I start singing the Michigan Fight song hide the Jack. I'll then entertain with a few Obscene Irish drinking songs. This will be the time to isolate me from any female with less body hair than Nicolas Cage. My wife will assist on this one. Around 1AM I usually thrill everyone with stories of my life of danger and intrigue. At this time carry me to the sleeping quarters and drop me on a waterproof mattress. I'll settle with Tuzilla in the morning.

No Pepper - see original "rules"

"Decorations will not include anything with lampshades, just tiki torches!"

But if Tex brings his own scotch - we'll probably have to hide them - didn't think about what disaster could happen with fire at a party.

That means you're going to have to separate Donden and Tex.

I'm sure I'm not alone when I say, we'll need to have a few long, sloe comfortable screws up against a wall?! Ooh ... Who wants to get the first round? And why not throw another shrimp on the Barbie - It's WAY too hot in Oz to cook inside at this time of year! (Anyone keen to try my 'skinny' dip and salsa?)

Umm, Oddly enough, I'd like a Bellini, too. And as for the "snack" Lobster and Chorizo in burre blanc with crisp, warm baguette, on the side (Crap, I sound high maintenance).
