Political correctness gone crazy, not even Christmas is safe!

As another holiday season and its implications draws near...

"Season's Greetings!" (pending approval)

In this ever-increasing litigious world of ours, I decided

to have some legal advisers review my Christmas 2007

greetings. That is why it has taken so long and maybe it's

a tad late. However, may I extend to you the warmest of

Seasons Greetings per the following:

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, the

wisher's best wishes for an environmentally conscious,

socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender

neutral, celebration of the summer/winter solstice holiday,

practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the

religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of

your choice, with respect for the religious/secular

persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not

to practice religious or secular traditions at all and a

fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and medically

uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally

accepted calendar year 2008 , but not without due respect

for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose

contributions to society have helped make this Country

great, not to imply that this great Country is necessarily

greater than any other country (nor is it the only great

Country in the world), and without regard to the race,

creed, colour, age, physical ability, religious faith,

choice of computer platform, or sexual preference of the

wishee. By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these

This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It

is freely transferable with no alteration to the original

greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually

implement any of the wishes for her/himself or others, and

is void where prohibited by law, and is revocable at the

sole discretion of the wisher.

This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the

usual application of good tidings for a period of one year,

or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting,

whichever comes first, and warranty is limited to

replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the

sole discretion of the wisher. The wishee further agrees to

hold harmless and indemnify The wisher, along with its

heirs, assigns, officers, directors, shareholders and all

others . . .

Isn't it sad that we've been reduced to this?

Thanks Bev. Very cute. I don't want to retype all that so I'll just say "same to you."

P.S. I'm asking Santa for some more emoticons for Sploofus. Or at the very least, fix the party emoticon, which hasn't worked since we got them. But it would be fun to have some themed emoticons during holidays.

Bev, I think you forgot one: This greeting is not intended to be swallowed, eaten, licked, or otherwise intended as a food substitute.

Thanks for brightening my day. Claudette

And thanks for all the funny cat web sites you have shared with me in the past, too! It is fun!

Merry Christmas, and best wishes for the New Year!
