This is why I go for the points in wordpuzzles by guessing every letter. Because when I don't, I get no points. I missed the Top 10 for Shakespeare characters by 1, and got a measly 290 points. G'ah!!!!

I agree with filling in all the letters. If it's a quiz with short answers, then I'll try to be in the top 10, but with lots of letters there's a sure payoff of over 1,000 points just for filling everything in, as opposed to getting 299 or less for being 11th through 199th.

I agree! I always fill in the whole puzzle unless I feel that I could make it into the top ten which hasn't happened yet!

But don't you find that boring?? When you already know the answer but you keep picking letters anyway?

I guess it's sometimes boring...sometimes, though, I have not a clue (which is often, wordpuzzles not being my strong suit) and then I enjoy guessing just for the points.

I just did tonight's wordpuzzle as a test...I'd rather guess continuously and get points.
