HELP! NEED SUGGESTIONS..

I am one of those last minute shoppers at Christmas. Anyone with young teen boys might have some ideas. I still need a couple of gifts for my 13 year old grandson. He and his brothers already have all the game systems that are out there, including Guitar Hero, XBox 360, PS and Mp3 players. These Kids are tough to buy for.Any sugesstions what a 13 year old would like? I'm stumped....I think the older they get the harder it is to come up with ideas.

X-box 360 has a just released game (12/21) called 'XM vs. ATV Untamed' that is heavily advertised. My 12 year old grandson begged for it. Pedals for a guitar are great if he plays and does not have one. DO NOT GET A DRUM SET. A knife is better. I think that cologne is a very nice gift for a teen. Kind of says, "I'm on your side, buddy."

When in doubt, a gift certificate to a game store and take them yourself.

My son is 12 and I bought him a game that is similar to the game Simon, where it plays a sequence and then you have to repeat it. The difference is, if you get it wrong, it shocks you.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000JJHW6C

Not sure why the boys this age seem to think the shocking things are cool, like the fake IPods, etc., but this ought to do the trick.

Also, the Simpsons' movie is out on DVD. If you live in an area with hills & snow, sleds are always fun.

Good luck!

Nintendo's Wii system is great for kids cause its interactive and they actually have to get off the couch to use it. It is a little pricey though. Have a great Christmas and good luck shopping.

If they like music, CD's, may be an option, their favorite music, of course!

Oh yeah, there's hit stix. They look like drum sticks but they are electronic. You play "air drums" and the sticks make the sounds anyway.

They all got the Hit Stix, but what is "Fly Pen" Haven't heard of that one. Anything to help with homework would be great. That is one of his biggest problems he has.I have even bribed him with money to get his grades up,but that didn't even help.

If he likes to read books i/o games.

sports - sports equipment if he is into such - it gets worn out and if they are in sports - you can always use another football or a ton of baseballs to practice with (or a REALLY awesome bat)

Cjar - my son loves Guitar Hero and I got him the CD version of the songs from the game and now he is asking for lots of other CDs by those artists. I also got him a sweatshirt that says "Got Guitar?" A subscription to Nintendo Magazine or something like it for the other systems would also be well received.

Look to your local Game Stop or similar store for Guitar Hero competitions and register him for one! Some stores allow you to host your own game competition party.

Thanks Suzer.. They have Guitar Hero ,Double Guitars no less. Their parents got them the new Rock Hero(Think thats what its called)The problem is that they really have too much, that it makes it harder every year of what else to get them.I think I finished my shopping today. The big surprise for them all is we booked a cruise for all of us for this coming October. Thanks to all who replyed with suggestions.

I guess I'm old school.

He likes guitar hero? Buy him a real guitar. My 16 year old son is self taught and can rip.

I refuse to buy anything indoor anymore. No video games, any of that crap. Get outside and play. My son is getting a fly rod and my daughters are getting softball gloves.

My kids are also getting guitars for Christmas.

My son already plays the piano and sax & sings - my daughter plays flute & sax & sings

I'm looking forward to them becoming famous musicians so I can upgrade to Platinum & quit work and do nothing but WR's all day

My youngest two take electric guitar (boy) and voice (girl) lessons. Connor is getting a replica of Dimebag Darrell's lightning bolt guitar and Rylee is getting her own amp, mike, & microphone stand. The first time the boy saw that guitar in the music store window, he stood there, and stood there, went in and touched it, played it, and day after day, went back and did it all over again. He would stand at the window and channel Wayne's World (OH YES, IT WILL BE MINE!) They also have a full drum set. And like you, Lorri, I'm counting on them making me a lot of money someday. I plan on being just like the Spears' mom. (snicker)

Funny though, with all of the real equipment they have, we were trolling the Mart of Wal yesterday and I discovered both of them at the Rock Hero display, drawing a crowd, while Connor had the guitar and Rylee was on drums. I dragged them away, reluctantly, and the whole way home they argued about who was the better rock star. They were begging for the game even though they have the real stuff. And as I was lecturing them, I flashed back to when I was a child, and had my own horse at home, but demanded to ride the metal horse in front of the grocery store every time we were there.

I really don't remember where I was going with this - Scott interrupted me with his thoughts of what we would and would not do if we won the lottery.

I think the best thing to get a 13 year old boy is a 13 year old girl.

Punch holes in the box.
