I stated how I found Sploofus in my "Execellent site...and" thread - but I would love to know how everyone found Sploofus - bet it would be interesting for Justin too

It was winter and I was playing with my Mac in the kitchen. The snow coated the ground and I was in no mood to do much of anything. I Googled "trivia" and found several sites, but was intrigued with this one. Soon e-mails started appearing in my "in box" and I was obsessing over Word Rounds. Standard Membership became Gold, Gold turned to Platinum and the housework went to hell...

Aaaaahhhhh, Sploofus!

I do love this place!

I was a participant on a Soap Opera Trivia site, and the moderator, Panda, mentioned something about Sploofus. So I came on over to check it out. Now I am a total addict, and I sure don't see her name around here much.

I was searching for a south park episode, and saw a trivia link, so I took it. It wasn't this site, but since I was having fun I kept typing in "South Park Trivia" until I came to this site, now you can't pull me away.

I think this was asked before ,but I dont know when or or where it is. I really cant remember how I found Sploofus, but it may have been on the Yahoo game site since I was formally addicted to Canasta there. Just switched my addictions.

There was an article in The Toledo Blade newspaper's business section about Justin Morton aka Mr. Sploofus and his Sploofus website. They interviewed him about the challenge of starting up his web vision from a location here in mid-america. (Toledo is right on the Ohio-Michigan line, so they cover a lot of stories from southest Michigan)Sploofus sounded very fun for someone like me, so I checked it out and I'm soooooo happy that I did. I'm curious if anyone in this area found our island from that Blade story.......... Erin
By the way, in that article I distinctly recall Justin saying that he had an ideal situation with the users/subscribers supplying the majority of the site's content by writing quizzes

Last spring I was listening to someone being interviewed (probably on NPR or PRI) about his choices of "the best" things, as I remember, best band, best movies, whatever, and he mentioned Sploofus as the best website...for some reason it stuck in my mind like a stepped-on turd bug, and I'm glad I was able to track this place down. Thanks to whoever that interviewee was, if you're here let me know who you are!

i found about Sploofus through a computer tips newsletter i get daily from 'worldstart'. ( ) Sploofus was featured on 'Amanda's Cool Site of the Day' back in January 2005. i've made other interesting discoveries from 'Cool Site', but this one is my favorite.

Another member, Arrowhead, told me. I have brought in six happy members, two quiters and several 'afraid to try' folks. Now, if everyone will just get six new members ... maybe I can still win the three platinums.

I was introduced to this site by another player - and I just love it here. Can't imagine my life without Sploofus! LOL!

LOL, Geo!

I was looking up "Presidential Trivia" for a cycling class I was teaching. I often introduce trivia questions to keep the class entertained so they'll stay on the bikes for an hour.

"Trivia" must have been the keyword, because Sploofus popped up and I've been here since then.

Oh yeah. And my housework has suffered since then too!

Hey Koota - Housework...what's that? Sploofus takes precedence and we must have our priorities straight.

Wow, I remember using several other trivia sites but I do remember searching the word trivia and Sploofus came up so I checked it out. At that time Sploofus had only been around for a few months and didn't have very many members yet. Sploofus has come a long way since then. Justin is a great guy and may Sploofus Island become even bigger and better in 2008.

I read about it in the Courier and Press, a newspaper in our local area the computer columnist who answers questions and gives suggestions was writing about it. I have played in other trivia rooms but have dropped all of them for spoolfus.

I was looking for the National Trivia Network NTN online. The one that used to be available in selected bars but also online.

Justin - maybe you can merge this thread with the other one started by Koota? Didn't remember the question had been asked & knew we had lots of new players.
