How did you choose your Sploofus ID name?

Mine being kasp767982 has been made up of the 1st name initials of my 4 sons and the year of their birth.

Sorry to be nosey, but there are some obscure ID's out there :D

Tuzilla demystified

"Tuzi" is Chinese for Rabbit...of which I am one under the Chinese system of Horoscope that you may well have seen on a placemat in a Chinese restaurant.

"Zilla" is taken from Godzilla

Thus, Tuzilla is a rabbit Monster...perhap related to the one in Monty Python's Holy Grail.

My name is my name, basically. I've been called "The Linenlady" since I used to go to the auctions and buy all the linens because I loved them. Through trial and error, and an apprenticeship with an expert, I restore, collect and sell both linen and lace. So now it's my tiny little business, aside from my regular work, and my pleasure and my name.

Tracy, you're funny. But, you know you want to know the stories...

As for me, "Simba" was a nickname for me in the Air Force, and "EK" are my initials. Since "Simba" is so common, I started using "eksimba" instead.

LOL, Tracy! I am not sure if I really want to know the origins of those names, either! :D

Mine comes from a style of fighting and self-defense I learn called Krav Maga. It was originally created in Israel for their army since there were women and older people in the army. The basic skills remain simple which makes it easy for people with no fighting experience to become proficient quickly. Many of the techniques teach you how to hurt someone - the only way a woman can beat someone bigger or stronger than herself.

My name is for Miss George my 3 1/2 lb calico cat. She likes to look at herself in the mirror, and she truly is the boss over me, my husband, and our other 5 cats.

My name was chosen because I like the word Aqua, meaning water in english. I added mar, meaning to detract from the perfection of, in other words, impure water. Some of you have been very creative with your user names. I do alot of research on Native Americans and this name gave me a good feeling.

When starting to subscribe to newsgroup sites needing codenames, I got fed up with all those names that don't tell you even the sex of the person you're talking to, let alone from where in the world they come!

I guess mine just speaks for itself! Not very original, but very true.

much more creative!

Thanks for asking name is jack, but mom and grandma called me jackson, while growing up. My siblings opted for action jackson, and later shortened it to action. The 23........well since action is typically too short for most "user names" carrying only 6 characters, I borrowed from the phrase "lights, camera, action"........where they director says "all right, we're ready in 1, 2, 3, action". I just dropped the 1.

Yikes........where did all that come from, eh?

m is the initial of my first name.

S is the initial of my middle name.

Killian just seemed like a cool name so I went with it.

I've been using mine since middle school. Sirius Black from the Harry Potter series was always one of my favorite characters and just plain Sirius is generally taken online so I started using SiriusOfAzkaban, which makes sense if you've read the books.
I also like the correlation of Sirius with the constellation Canis Major and its brightest star, Sirius A (The Dog Star)
This is a cool thread, I like reading where all the names came from!

Mine's pretty easy. I'm from Texas and my last name is Chaplin. I use that for just about every website I need a user id for cause "Flea" (my nickname) is normally taken already.

Machiabelly  (Level: 136.2 - Posts: 190)

Machiabelly...Well, it is a play on Machiavelli, except in my case my belly feels that any ends justify the means.
I use it everywhere. Well, most places. I used it in Pogo then forgot my password and e-mail i signed up with, so I am MachiabellyPEI there.
Same thing in Yahoo (man I am thick) so I am Machia_belly there.

About 3 months after I first used it, Richard Hatch won Survivor and got Christened with the name, which sucked.

This really is a great thread. I started getting a little cocky cuz I had gotten the pun of machiabelly's name a while ago (History class paid off finally!)... then I read mskillian's post. Well, THAT burst my little ego bubble! I'd been pronouncing it in my head (if you know what I mean) as M Skillian. lmao Don't ask me why. I have no clue. Anyhoo... Mine comes from reading a book by one of my fave authors, Anne Rice: Pandora. Love the book, love the author, totally love the myth. Plus, the hidden meaning behind it is that I am not what I appear to be. Not to say that I am full of evil, but oh, well. Ok, done babbling. Thanks for the reading material! This was fun! Mine was made up when I first needed a user name. I always use the same one because any more than one and I would forget what name I use on different sites. MC - my first daughters initials. pop - I'm her dad and I thought mcpop sounded better than mcdad. -James

I think mine is pretty obvious, I'm Meghan's mom, so meghansmom! Pretty boring, but I love some of the other names and the originality of them.

I live on a barrier island, and am surrounded by pelicans, alligators, and other creatures who habitate brackish and salt waters. (Hence, my quiz "Beautiful Waterfowl.")

When I was still a tourist here, there was a bar/restaurant near the entrance to the island called The Playful Pelican. (I liked the name more than the restaurant itself.)

That building eventually became a welcome welcome center, and the still temporary site of the Coastal Discovery Museum.

Happily, they moved the statue of the playful pelicans to the Westin Hotel. I see it when I stop by for calamari.

The Sploofus gremlins, perhaps being playful themselves, made the immediate previous anonymous. (This has happened once before.)

It's from me ----

I've been wondering why some of the posts seemingly have no author, or at least have an author who has no name. I still wonder, but at least now I know they're not just ghostly posting.
