NOOOOOOOOOO! Not Oregon Trail, my team always died too early. That lemonade stand game was way more fun. Maybe it's just me...

"You know you grew up in the '40s if .................."

* Vera Lynn is HOT!

* Tommy Dorsey is the old P Diddy

* Glen Miller could still float

* Having a bunch of balloons over your house didn't neccesarily mean there was a party going on.

* LSD still meant money (that one's for you Surrey )

* Currently: everything creaks, songs don't have proper words (or tunes)anymore, you never drive at more than 20mph, people have no respect for their elders, technology is too fast, walking is too slow and teeth are a dim and distant memory. And smart-ass children poke fun at you about it all. Bring back National Service!

Loved Oregon Trail! I was the Oregon Trail Master, even bought it for my home computer! I sucked at that Lemonade game, if we ever need to make it through the wilderness I'll take charge, and if I need to sell something you're in charge queen!

I just liked to kill stuff on the trail.... Food and provisions, who needs those when you can stock up on ammo.

Wow, I completely forgot about that, that really was the best part, I used to just go hunting for hours, forget about the fact that I'm supposed to be making progress towards something. Hated it when the game I was hunting for got scarce though.

You mean there was a specified end to the trail. I thought everyone was supposed to die.

My team was probably pictured on the shirt Lodi saw.

Jeremy & Jeff remind of the team that played the endless game, still going long after the rest of us were dead and bored.

Yep...good times, good times. NOT! (sorry, just had to do it)

Wow, Lodi played Contra with unlimited lives, that game was pretty hard without that! I love this blast from the past. Nice T-shirt site by the way....

That was great Jeremy. I remember all those things only because my daughter was born in '81 and the Goonies is one of my favorite movies. I think I just gave my age away.

Brief description from Wikipedia.....

The Oregon Trail is an educational computer game developed by Don Rawitsch, Bill Heinemann and Paul Dillenberger in 1971 and produced by MECC in 1974. The game was inspired by the real-life Oregon Trail and was designed to teach school children about the realities of 19th century pioneer life on the trail. The player assumes the role of a wagon leader guiding his party of settlers from Independence, Missouri, to Oregon's Willamette Valley by way of the Oregon Trail via a Conestoga wagon in 1848.

The game was popular among American elementary school students in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Many students in the United States had access to the game at school.

Lame Phitzy! Can't believe you missed out on this one! That is so not cool...

when i subbed (94'-'97) in high school, 1st thing i looked for was a copy of 'Oregon Trail' in the room. my favorite line was "if you do the assignment left by your teacher quietly, you can play 'Oregon Trail' when you finish". never had any trouble on those days. LOL

Well done. I woke up early to watch cartoons in the seventies and eighties.
Recently my kids rented "Oregon Trail II" from the local public library, downloaded
it, and froze up the computer. Channeling the Power Rangers, Mighty Isis, and Rudy from
Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids went nowhere fast. Nor were the Amazing Chan and the Chan
Clan any help at all.
Anyone with a 'lil computer help, please let me know.
Thanks, Nux
