SECOND INSPIRING VIDEO

Nothing tops the basketball one, but this is very cool. Again have to wait until the end, it is like 8 minutes so grab a frosty adult beverage.

Someone showed me that video two months ago, and I've been playing it for friends ever since. Incredible. Someone really should score it to some movie music, especially when the "cavalry" arrives...I'm thinking that Buffalo scene music by the great John Barry from Dance With Wolves...
ah I can see it now...

My ex-husband was raised on a ranch. He said when they had small calves you would see a bunch of calves sunning themselves on a hillside with one or two cows (babysitter cows) with the calves. All the other cows were off in the distance grazing. He said it's wasn't unusual for the babysitter cow to take on one or more coyotes to protect the calves.

Just amazes me when people still insist on saying animals are dumb. In some ways they are a lot smarter than we are.

I love the way the herd just starts patrolling back in, after you think it's done........really cool

I just don't see how the calf survived with a croc pulling on a leg, and the lions pulling the other way. I'm amazed.

And I know animals are smart in the ways they need to be.

But they've never built a building, discovered a way to cure a disease, painted a work of art, written a sonnet or a sonata. I just don't buy into them being smarter than they are, much less smarter than man.

But I love them! My very first dog ever, Berkley, died yesterday morning. Trying to teach between tears, seeing teenagers being teenagers, and then turning to hug and comfort me as soon as they found out.....stopping at a stop sign, looking both ways, going through the intersection and hearing the screeching brakes of a red sports car right beside me that I never saw......I loved Berkley, and I'll miss her forever. She gave me companionship and devoted big brown eyes when I needed it most.

And I'm checking a ridiculous number of times at intersections now.
