SNOW DAY

I am so excited. We have no school tomorrow. I am actually in college but I feel like I am back in grade school. This makes me think about how the activties I enjoyed as a child are not as fun as an adult. It is disapointing. I really wish I enjoyed them as much as I used to. Things such as; not being able to sleep the night before christmas and trying to find hidden gifts, the excitment of searching for easter eggs having, sleep overs on my birthday, trying to build a snowman so big that you can't even get the head on and horror movies that actually scared you. I still enjoy these things I guess, but they are just not the same. Anyone else miss that childhood magic?

We are waiting to hear if we have one. They'll never close WSU but at least my kids might get a day off.

You must live close to me because we have a snow day tomorrow too. My three kids get the day off too. Oh joy, I can't wait to try to get up and down my driveway. The weather looks pretty bad for the rest of the week too.

Dang it, we were supposed to get that storm too, but it's clear & cold, here on Vancouver Island. I don't even work anymore & I still love snow days. And yes, I am very immature for my age

Randy, stay as you are: when you start growing up, you start growing old!

...or you COULD grow old disgracefully, like me?

They would never close WSU - we would all end up with a paid holiday. Instead, if you are unable to get to work, you have to use a vacation day.

They make you use a vacation day? Are they crazy? That absolutely sucks. AND that is REALLY how I feel about it!

Once (in my 14 years teaching in Arizona) we got to go home early when a bad rain storm knocked out the electricity. But a snow day? I wish!

Lodi, My boss would have us report to work in a blizzard, keep us until noon, then let us go home (with pay) after four or five more inches of snow fell. One thing, we all lived at least twenty milwes away. Real JO

In GA they close the schools if they see a single snow flake. They say they can't risk running the bus in the rural areas.

Can I get a cold day for tomorrow. Supposed to be -24 in the morning. Although today is a balmy 5 above, with the windchill we are looking at -30 now.

I love one-upsmanship (a word for wordrounds):
15 degrees, wind gusts to 40 mph; -25 wind chill.
Blowing snow so that visibility is less than a half mile.
And I have to go to school.
Sioux City Sioux's knickers are iced up, baby!

Another snow day here. The snow is almost up to the sliding glass door in my bedroom. You can't even see the steps out there.

Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow !!!! Better than 98F with 80 % Humidity.
You can always put more clothes on, but you can take only so much off.

Jank0614, I had to look at your profile (cute baby) to see where you lived. We have a Panhandle area of Nebraska, too, and there's no way in the world you could live in Nebraska and be asking for more wind! If the wind ever stopped blowing in Nebraska we'd all crack our heads from falling over. We have one reporter on staff who is maybe 90 pounds with wet clothes on. We often joke about putting rocks in her pockets so the gusts of wind won't blow her into the next county!

It is helpful in the fall, though. You don't need to rake leaves; eventually they all blow somewhere else.

The problem is that given the paucity of trees in Western Nebraska, the leaves that blew there probably came from 200 miles away.

Tomorrow is going to be our snow day... joke's on the kids though.. it's also a P.A.Day! Ha ha (Nelson laugh). I only laugh because I have to go to work either way.

It's supposed to start at 4 am and we are to get 20-25 cms (8-10 in for you 'Merican folk"). We can thank Texas for this winter storm... that's where it's coming from. Hhmmm.. wonder if I can string up a giant tarp over my 10 car driveway?? lol
