SHOWDOWN TOKENS

I am sure this has come up before, but I thought I'd give or get an idea for what to do with Showdown Tokens. After a year of Sploofus, I have noticed that most players have a Showdown percentage well below 50%. Mine is low because I'm not ready for random categories, plus the speed factor. I also don't like the seven day wait period.

I have about 38 tokens that are doing nothing, I think Lodi should be over 100 by now. My suggestion is to be able to trade tokens for TQOTD's or ten Showdowns for one Wager token. "WHY NOT !!" There are no prizes on this site, just points and levels.
Before you call me a blockhead or idiot, I'm just looking for something useful for all of us.

I have 78 so I think that's a great idea!

I do have one of those "duh" questions. How often do we receive the tokens? Once a week? I honestly don't have a clue. I have 110 of the critters just sitting there gathering dust.....I've just never noticed when I get another one.

I believe it is once per week, and I have 115 up for grabs. Everyone just above me has always had more Proficiency Badges and a quicker answering speed than I, so there they sit. I certainly have no objection to folks using their own Showdown Tokens challenging me, because sometime I get lucky. I would be happy to trade them for Wager tokens, but alas nothing will change until 2.0 magically appears someday.

not sure the current system could handle trading tokens as you propose but i like the idea of getting an extra QOTD in exchange for a number of token.

i read a post by Justin weeks ago that there will be changes to the showdown system in the upgrade version. i hope one of the changes will allow challengers to pick a category for the showdown question.

as it is now, i feel the risk is too great for me. losing points on a question about rap music, for example, would make me a very unhappy sploofuser.

Liam:

I really like the idea of trading showdown tokens for TQOTDs. You can increase your level with the TQOTDs you trade for, and that will go toward earning a wager token sooner.

There is no 2.0.... There is NO Santa. And The Easter Bunny was killed in "Fatal Attraction"

Stop pretending, boys and girls....

Mr. Sploofizz, If I recall correctly, we be able to select the category when we
make a Showdown Challenge. Then the challengee has the optional to accept or not.
I think I read this last summer before I signed up for a year of Platinum.

I get a new Showdown token every Sunday--and I usually use it the same day. I live dangerously.

I have 38. Only used one so far. Am being challenged at this moment. I have 5 wins, 3 stalemates and one loss. I have upgraded to a new, faster, more powerful machine so now I may challenge someone.

Here's another idea. Instead of Showdowns, have Instant Shootouts in a section where others could view. Call it the Shootout Room. Billions and Trillions of points could be wagered, records could be broken, players would go busted. I think I'd better go back to decaf.

I think I have 120 showdown tokens. When I leave sploofus, I plan on going out in a showdown orgy. (not to be confused with the more popular southern hoedown orgy)

With platinum, do you get to stage showdowns more often? Cause in gold, that would be over 2 years worth of showdowns for when you hit your century BD and move to the French Riviera, sans computer.

Norm...erm Drew! You can't leave! It's in the rules somewhere, under section 4 of the Hotel California Act.

(And is there not too many 'e's in 'hoedown'? Or am I thinking of something else?)

Colitas? I thought he said burritos! I always wondered why he didn't just stop at Taco Bell instead.

Probably because of the colitis.
