Creme Brulee French Toast

½ cup unsalted butter

1 cup packed brown sugar

2 tablespoons corn syrup

1 (8-9 inch) loaf country style or French bread

5 eggs

1 ½ cups half & half

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 teaspoon Grand Mariner

¼ teaspoon salt

Melt butter with brown sugar and corn syrup in a small saucepan over medium heat, stir constantly until smooth. Pour into 9X13 inch baking dish.

Cut bread into 1" slices (squeeze bread into dish to fit)

Whisk eggs, half & half, vanilla, Grand Marnier and salt in a bowl. Pour evenly over bread and refrigerate for 8-12 hours.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bring mixture to room temperature. Bake uncovered 35-40 minutes

Printed it off and will stop at the liquor store on the way home to pick a bottle of Grand Marnier. Can't wait to try it (the French toast that is). OK so I'll have a sip of the Grand Marnier too.
