Is it really worth it? I went from basic to gold almost immediately, but the only platinum perk that I would really relish would be the unlimited word rounds. Anyone else got an opinion to share?

If you enjoy WR/WMs and have extremely understanding family & friends, then Platinum is great!

There is a thread somewhere about the elusive 2.0 where Justin gives more details. It looks as if there may be a lot more differences then between Gold and Platinum.

Presently, I think it's more a case of supporting Sploofus. I, for one, would hate to lose it due to lack of funds to cover the cost of servers etc.

Oh! I forgot to say - the extra tries really help if you're trying to practice different techniques to improve your WR/WM speed!

As Nelly said, Justin's explanation quite a long time ago made many differentiations for Platinum, among them, I believe, an exclusive forum to post. Under the current system one could argue that unless you wish to support the site-not much difference between Gold and Platinum that I can see. I don't believe I've ever tried a WM or WR more 4 times but that's just me as I'm slow and figure no matter how many tries will remain slower than most. It is a personal achievement for me to get 100%

Right now, the biggest tangible perk is essentially unlimited WR/WMs. The biggest untangible is that if you love the site so much, you want to give it some extra financial support, this is the way to do it.
