Re: Easy President Quiz #2

Dear Ronkon: you obviously are a very angry child. at least our president is not an adulterer and doesn't have sexual relations with other women in the white house. but that much better right

My responce was:
Angry? Child? I am neither, but is obvious you are at least one of the two yourself. Do I know you, or do you usually randomly attack people without provocation based upon false impressions, like we did in Iraq, where many americans kids have died. I made no personal comments about the president. I just stated facts. I am going to become a minister with a focus on the homeless now I am reaching midlife, and I think I am well aware of lifes realities. One would be that Fiscal conservatism is not scriptural, no more than being liberal upon non-fiscal lines. I am no child, and am man to back up all my positions, as well as i am also willing to admit my faults, which is more than I can say for our president. If you have a scripture that would prove me wrong, step on up. I am waiting with my bible ready to either show you the truth, or admit my error in humility. If I have sinned against you in some way personally, please let me know what I did, that I may repent. May God bless and keep you either way.

Oy. Thank goodness I've not received any such PMs about any of my quizzes!

Ok Ron...

That message was way too personal and was very antagonistic. I would send a trouble ticket to Sploofus.

I would personally be very insulted (I don't get insulted easily) if I received that note. Am I noticing a trend here toward more personal type attacks from the quiz editors? I hope not.

I would still let Justin know.

I don't care to tattle, I was really looking for some constructive critisism. I want to know if my quiz is offensive, because it was not my intention.

Ok...took the quiz.

Don't know what the reply to the quiz was all about. All of the questions were straight forward and based on known facts.

Maybe medication was not taken the day he took the quiz?

That response was way out of line.

I don't think your quiz was offensive at all. Bush had a DWI and he didn't win the popular vote. Those are just facts. You didn't make any angry or demeaning judgements about those facts (as the editor did to you).

All you did by having those 2 questions about Bush was to perhaps indicate that he's not your favorite president ever. Is that not allowed? What if you had had a question about the Clinton scandal? It seems this editor would have had no problem with that.

I've never had anything but friendly, encouraging, and helpful notes from editors, so I hope this is just one person who made an error in judgement and that they'll be asked to refrain from personal remarks & unconstructive criticism on quiz content in the future.

You know, I actually hesitated just now to post this, wondering if it would get me 'in trouble' with any editor(s) and cause problems with my quizzes, or make another member want to bomb me...that's not something I should have to worry about on a site like this! So...

Hey Sploofusers --

Yes there are many players who are confrontational by nature, and unfortunately one has to put on a thick skin in any Internet community. Don't take it as a personal attack. After all, no one knows who you really are as a person!

If possible, in the future, let's keep the squabbles that arise via Sploofus Messaging between the primary parties and myself. I hate to see our chat forum erupt in any further dramatic episodes... especially those which involve politics AND religion!

Thank you all for your understanding...

Shauna, just for clarification, that was not an editor message. Apparently it was a message sent after a member took ronkon's quiz.

My bad...I directed this thread in the wrong way.

Ronkon's initial post was NOT about an editor...

It was about a message from a quiz taker...that was completely unsolicited.

"Yes there are many players who are confrontational by nature, and unfortunately one has to put on a thick skin in any Internet community. Don't take it as a personal attack. After all, no one knows who you really are as a person!" missed the first part "Dear Ronkon: you obviously are a very angry child" does one not take that as a personal attack?

Let's all be real here...that was uncalled for and wrong...

Exactly why it should be kept between the primary parties and myself, so that I can take care of it without causing undue stress on the chat forums.

Otherwise, posts such as this get deleted and that is not something that anyone wants.

...just trying to keep things positive.

Presidential adulterer...JFK...but still adored.

Why get mad over the truth? If the Bush did what he did, then it's not someone else trying to make the "president" look bad. He can do that all by himself.

You know I took the quiz and I thought it was a cheap shot at GWB. I considered sending a PM but decided to respect your freedom to an opinion because that is one of the great privileges of this country. Another being the fact that we get to vote for our Commander and Chief. The man who won is our president and deserves respect whether or not you voted for him. As for your opinion on the war you have the right to state it. I am currently in the Depper program with the United States Air Force and come august I will be graduating from my Security Forces School and there is a chance I can be sent to Iraq. So whether I agree with the war or not our president made the decision. The man this great country elected to make decisions made the decision. So I will go fight for you and possibly die for you and that will be an honor. Its not in vain itís not for no reason there is a lot of good being done over there. Finally it is made clear in Acts 23:5 and Romans 13:1 that we are to respect and obey the governing officials. Thank you and God bless

Don't forget that probably the most important right that you might be fighting for is the right to continuously debate. That is the heart of democracy.

We follow our leaders blindly only at our peril. Virtually every president involved in a war has tried to shut off debate. That includes Bush, but it also includes Johnson, Wilson, Lincoln and others. It shows the strength of our democracy when we have voices of dissent, if for no other reason than the president and the administration are forced to articulate and defend their reasons for the policies they take.

Well, Mr. sploofus, Do I get to answer the post from the serviceman? He chose to post in the forums instead of messaging me personally. I promise to be: #1 Accurate in my facts #2 Kind to my fellow man #3 Respectful #4 Helpful #5 Encouraging #6 Display personal humility For those of you who do not share my faith, Let me fill you in on where I stand.
Hosea 4:6
my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. "Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.
2 Timothy 4
1In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: 2Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourageówith great patience and careful instruction. 3For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. 5But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.
John 8:31-32
31To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

If I had received the post I would have contacted Sploofus (via support ticket) and left it at that. To me small minds say small things, usually meaningless dribble. I would just forget about it. I thought the quizzes here were meant to be entertaining as well as informative. If that is the type of quiz you created, you have nothing to be sorry for and do not need to defend yourself. Let us keep this chat pleasant for the sake of all Sploofusers.
