QUESTION FOR DETROITER

I have a flight scheduled to arrive at 6:32 pm. tomorrow is my mothers 90th birthday and the kids a grands and great grands in her case are giving her a surprise luncheon on Saturday. I've returned there before but always when it is warm-now this snowstorm. Have the weather channel on but they concentrate mostly on Fl. weather. Just wanted your opinions on whether flight will be able to land-know Chicago looks gloomy-thanks-Linda

Hi Linda,

I'm just north of Detroit. It seems to have started to snow in the area of Detroit Metro airport. They are expecting 3 to 5 inches. However, any native Michigander would also have to tell you: "We just don't know what to expect. Cause our weather can totally change in a matter of minutes." Which of course means it may all melt on impact, or 5 to 7 or even 10 inches may accumulate! I'm sorry. We just don't know.....

Best of luck!
Heady

Just wanted everyone to know that the flight did land but had to hold on the ground so they could clear a patch to thhe gate. My daughter and niece picked me up and there was quite a scence at the pick-up site. At the pick-up site a very large man had a heart attack and was lying in the street An ambulance and crew had to get through the traffic and the snow mess. My mother's 90th birthday party was postponed until yesterday as family was coming from various parts of Mi. and Ohio. Suprisingly, with this family of mine all made it to the Pinckney Boat Club on time and we had a wonderful brunch-mother wasd totally surprised. Love seing my kids and grands and the rest of the family but my daughter (Holly) bought some kind of "rock band" thing with guitar, drums, and microphone which hooks up to the Tv for her kids for Easter. I am leaving this evening to return to Fl. and hopefully my sanity and hearing will return. Lo

Sounds like you had a great time with family. Glad the weather somewhat cooperated. Now go home and rest!

We live up in Macomb County and got about 1 2" of snow. My daughter in Toledo got 5 - 6". Seems like many times this winter they've gotten more snow in Ohio then we have in Michigan.

This note is for Smaug. I am home now and my excuse for the typos in my previous message is I forgot to take my glasses on my trip=will think of a new one when I next attempt a long post. My flight was packed coming back to Orlando. I believe I must have been the only person on the plane who wasn't coming here for vacation during "SPRING BREAK" This time nothing so traumatic as an individual having a heart attack in a blizzard. The little girl sitting in front of me did VOMIT, however,-very stressful for her parents and passenger s seated nearby!!!
