Hello fellow Sploofusers. I just want to inform all of you that we have had some floods in Missouri. I myself have been very lucky but there are many people out of home including my mother-in-law. She is staying with us right now because of water in her house. I just want to ask all you to keep her and the other victims of the flood in your prayers. This is a very tragic time for many people and they need all the prayer they can get. Thank you all and have a good Easter.

I have seen the news. God bless all of you, and I hope you get things dried out as soon as possible.

Yes, as I told you in my note to you earlier, please take care. If you know of anything we can do, please do not hesitate to tell us. I teach in a suburban district, and I can easily ask around for additional help.

My prayers are with you.

My heart goes out to you. What you all are facing isn't easy or pretty. I went through this with my parents about 4 years ago. It was devastating but we just kept telling each other that furniture, TV's, clothes, and all those other things CAN be replaced....but a life can't and were thankful that we were all there and able to work shoulder to shoulder in the clean up efforts.

I almost lost my mom to flood waters that year, if it hadn't been for my brother being quick on his feet and jumping in where she went under when she slipped and twisted her knee (they were trying to get out of the house going through 4 ft deep water), she probably wouldn't be here today. He managed to grab a handful of shirt and yank her back to the surface of the water and keep her there until my dad threw a tow line from the front of his truck out to them to get them back to safety. Be thankful that they are alive, that is the biggest thing, everything else can be replaced.

In the case of pictures....if they are in water....leave them there, keep them wet until you can start pulling them apart because if you dump the water out they will start drying and sticking together. That was the most devastating thing for my mom, loosing pictures and I spent an entire week carefully pulling pictures out of the photo boxes and photo albums that were in storage totes under the beds and on bookshelves that got filled with water. I quickly learned that keeping them wet was the key and only took out a few at a time to lay around to dry out. Some of them were just too damaged to be kept but we managed to save a lot of the pictures, even though they might have looked a bit tattered, the memory captured in the picture was still there.

Lots of prayers headed your way. K keep your chins up and try to remember that the most important thing is that they are okay.

Thank you all for your prayers. We are still fine here in our little town on Qulin but there was an evacuation just north of us. My nephew and his wife suffered damage not from flood waters but damaged sewer so they are out of home right now. He just got back from Iraq too. Welcome home huh? Anyway, thank you and keep praying for those who are in the midst of the flood. God has protected my family and will continue to watch over others.
