VOTE FOR MY DOG

First official "Who Has the Cutest Sploofus Poochus" contest.

I vote for Felix's. It might be his dog, might not....because, you know, it's Felix...but that is one cute puppy!

(Dear anyone that might take this as anything other than just fun,
This is just for fun.

We have a bichon . She just got groomed and is very pretty too.

Since she is not entered in this contest, I'll vote for your dog

no no, post a pic! All dogs entered, all dogs winners, no rules, just bragging. Not so much a real contest.

I love my mutt, think she is the most beautiful in the world, but have been told by others that she might be just a little, well...fugly. The best we can determine, she is a rat terrier-chihuahua mix.

Oops, sorry Felix, I have to vote for Jeremy's baby, you know he's my favorite sploofus player ever and of all time and so on. So, of your three, Stout, I vote for the plump one. I'm not sure if he is the cutest of the three darlings, but he looks like he may have sat on one, and maybe eaten the other.

Erin, we currently have 4 dogs, 3 'normal' cats (if that's possible!), 1 dwarf cat and a cat that hasn't quite decided whether he's moving in or not yet! The 'undecided' is a stealth cat that creeps up to our bedroom in the evening and sleeps on the old cushions on the floor, then about 15 minutes after we go to bed he gets up, eats his fill and creeps out - until last night, when he stayed all night. Perhaps he's decided humans aren't so bad after all!

I'm kinda down on cats right now. My neighbor feeds strays and the neighborhood's alive with them, yowling in the bushes in the middle of the night, pissing everywhere, dropping fleas, making the dogs nuts, leaving footprints on my car, having kittens in the garage. The city is supposed to put traps out on Monday.

nepotism

Wow, that's a houseful! I want to get Rosy a little friend, she isn't very social with other animals, but loves people. The cat is so old, I don't think he'll be around too much longer.

My dogs are posted. Smoke, have to tell you, those are 2 beautiful dogs and you can see the character in their eyes.

Papermanbill, my former boss had a 12-year-old black Lab named Woody. When he wrote his weekly columns he always referred to Woody as Woody, the Cadillac of Dogs. I've had a black Lab and they are one of the nicest dogs to have around.

My dog is on my profile.

We had to rush him to the vets last week cos he was in a lot of pain. Found out he has GLAUCOMA and one eye has already gone blind. We are fighting to save the other eye, he's on 6 different medications. This week we have to decide about surgery.
Hopefully none of your dogs have experienced this but if you have please PM me if you have any advise.

Your dogs are all so cute!

I'm going to get a picture of the puppy we have left from our dog that passed away last week and get her entered - I found homes for her two sisters. It's really sweet because Bilbo's brother, Root Beer, is trying to take care of Tigger (what my daughter named the puppy we have left after the wire haired terrier we had that passed away at 17) - so not sure how long this contest will go - but will try to have by tomorrow - if I can still count! She's still a little shy and I think sad that her mom is gone, but she's warming up to us (Only 5 weeks old)

In the interest of full disclosure, SmaugDog has a foul habit of scooting across the living room carpet to reach an anal itch...

You can cure that by dabbing the itchy spot with a rag dipped in turpentine each time it occurs.

We don't allow "roughlocking" at our house. And the mop dog is currently shaved to resemble a baboon's a$$ because we don't allow bodaggits either.

Dogs listen and are trainable to live with others. Cats do what they damn well please and are pests that animal control laws don't seem to apply to. All I know is if my dogs were doing to my neighbor and her property what her cats are doing to mine, I'd be paying fines and bailing dogs out of the pound every other day.

I'm not blaming the cats, but the owner. Mostly.

I agree that all cats are not created equal. In my lifetime, I've been fortunate to have really cool cats. I remember my first one, and my dad does not like cats. His name was Mephistopheles (I had been reading Faust in college) - and he thought he was a dog. He protected me like a dog. My dad backed away and he wound up really like him, because he was a cool cat, not a stuck up cat

Kaelin, if I had a cat, it would be a cool cat. I'd see to it or it wouldn't be my cat. My daughter has cool cats. She controls them and doesn't allow them to be a nuisance to others.

My neighbor does not have cool cats, and she doesn't take responsibility for them, because no one makes her. Stray dogs would be just as big a pain in the butt as stray cats, but they'd be picked up by animal control, or their owners would be fined.

It really is the owner (she denies being their owner but she puts out food and water), but it's making me hate these cats. I'll have to rent traps from the city for $21 each and trap them myself and take them to the shelter, and if she wants them back she has to go bail them out. It's either that or I turn the weimaraners loose on them and that's not behavior I want to encourage in the dogs.

I nailed a white one today with a well-thrown paintbrush loaded with red paint. Just happened to make a go for my birdfeeder while I was painting windowsills. So help me, I just had to interrupt this post to go break up a pair yowling in the street right in front of the house. I had to get out of my warm bed and bust up a cat orgy in my nightgown at 4:AM this morning. I've REALLY had it to the hairline.
