DANCE FLOOR FILLERS

Which songs are guaranteed to make you shake your thang whilst taking it to funky town?

A couple to start, certain to make my wife pretend she's not with me -

'Get Up Offa That Thing (and dance 'till you feel better)' - Jaaaaaames Brown,
'Don't Stop Believing' - Journey,
'Bad Moon Rising' - Creedence Clearwater Revival,
'One Step Beyond' - Madness,
'Do Anything You Wanna Do' - Eddie and the Hot Rods and (sadly)
'Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go' - Wham: tho' often by then Mrs Familiaris is equally as drunk as I am and will consent to dancing nearby me...

NOt a bad choice although when it comes to a Madness song 'Baggy Trousers' always fills the floor.
I have dj'ed a couple of discos and find that classics like 'Brown Eyed Girl' and 'American Pie' always go down well.

But in my opinion the one song guaranteed to have everyone up and dancing merrily away is The Foundations with 'Build Me Up Buttercup'

I dance about as well as Elaine on Seinfeld. I did however grow up in a very Italian family and can do a mean tarantella - so when any of the various tarantellas are played I have been known to kick up my heels a little.

Bad Moon Rising is a good one. I remember it well!

No wedding reception would be complete without the Chicken Dance.
