hi all, just would like your opinion please.if we miss a "tqotd",we are allowed to take it at our leisure.if we miss a word puzzle,we cant,it hardly seems fair, esp.this time of year, the new system, but would not call it a "level" playing field.what about the people going away on xmas.visits, etc ?.

You have a good point there - we have had to miss a few of them due to other obligations - I wonder what sploofus will say about that - but I think for that to work you would have to have it saved to a folder like TQOTD is??? - MAYBE??

It's like the word rounds... if "you snooze" then "you lose". I fell asleep before playing "Things That Keep You Warm". I hate when I do that! :D

My guess is that the TQOTD is individual, you're basically competing against your own ability to recall trivia...but the Wordpuzzles are competitive with tohers, and they award the 1st place winner with some more points, right?

How would they decide the winner?

Maybe people should be able to take older Word Puzzles and perhaps Word Rounds at a lower scoring level than when competing live, just to make up some of the points and/or to practice. Points would be awarded, just not as high as if you take the puzzle when it's "live." And of course, late takers would not appear on the particular puzzle's leaderboard regardless of how well they do. Once the live puzzle is done, the live winner is declared and can't get snuck up on later.

The major advantage I see here is giving folks a way to practice for the live puzzles, and to make up a little (but certainly not all) of the points they lost by missing the puzzle when it was live.

Cheating may be an issue, though...
