She was. I guess they've fun out of people who are worthy of being the featured player.

Congrats [again] to Beth, aka Kravfighter.

Winning twice- what an accomplishment.

Being an amateur astronomer also, I appreciate her talents even more.

WTG Beth!

Oh, I just learned that I'm under consideration for being the featured player from York, PA [first capital of united states.]

Alvandy, it's a shame I can't put my limited astronomy talents to use. We just moved to Tucson from Detroit last year and the star-gazing is way better out here. I'm also super close to Kitt Peak, but with a 10-month old I have had little time/been too tired for astronomy. I'm not complaining too much, though as the heavens will be waiting for me once Euan gets older.

Kitt Peak has an advanced overnight viewing program where you and 1 other person can stay overnight for 575$ and you can pretty much view what you want (with help if necessary), take pictures with their CCD camera, and take all of your images home with you on a CD. One day...sigh.

Beth: Thanks for your feedback.

I hope to visit Arizona/ Kitt Peak someday.

It would be nice to see the night sky so dark and full of stars- light pollution is making star gazing so difficult to enjoy in the urban areas.

We have a lot of night sky and amazing star gazing here in Idaho. I remember as a kid, I used to lay out on a sleeping back in the backyard during the hot summer nights and see how many satellites I could find. There are so many stars, sometimes if feels like they're just "right there."

But please don't move here. We like our non-light polluted skies.

There's a place near Valentine, Nebraska, that is so far out in the middle of nowhere, that they have a stargazers party every summer out there. People come from all over the country, as well as some foreign visitors, to set up their equipment and spend the weekend searching the heavens.

About the only local company they would have are coyotes (which we do NOT pronounce ki-o-tees!) and a stray steer or two.

Those stray steers probably would be happy to have a star party participant point out the constellation TAURUS the Bull.

How do you pronounce ki -o-tee anyway?

ki- oats?

We have coyotes that like to try and sing me to sleep. Doesn't work. We've had wolf sightings 5 miles away. I don't imagine I'll get much sleep if I hear them at night.

well, you learn something new everyday, so coyotes is pronounced ki-otes, not ki-oties?dont know just how to bring this piece of info into an everyday conversation, but ill try.thanks for that.

And just to throw another into the mix - I'm currently working on a website for a tractor dealer (who ever knew there were so many brands!) - and there is a tractor brand called Kioti - pronounced ki-o-ti.
