THE THING I HATE ABOUT SNOOKER... that, as an American, I don't know enough about it to be able to do well on a WordPuzzle about it! (Not that I'd know that much more about many other sports, to be honest.) But I guess that's only fair, given the U.S.-centric tenor of most of the WordPuzzles.

I know absolutely nothing about Snooker, but somehow managed to finish in the current Top Ten. I can only hope that will last, as it's most unusual. Anyway, being unfamiliar with the topic was not a problem with my questions. Loved it!

Awwww. Too bad. One could actually do very well on this puzzle by only knowing that Snooker bears some passing resemblence to billiards.

I deliberately made it so that you have to know little about the "sport" to do well. I was hoping to make you all laugh. Better luck next time, I guess.

I don't do Word Puzzles but it made me laugh just thinking you would do a puzzle on it! Where's Liam by the way?

to sploofabulous- it was a great , fun quiz!

a little knowledge about spectator sports was all one needed -to have a good score.

not too hard; not too soft; just right!

Here I am Jeremy. I think that the writer of that puzzle should get an Editor's Award with 5 stars. I studied up and did well on the WP. A hot tip in the stock market could be Brunswick Mfg.. They manufacture pool tables. Sploofusers should be good for 500-1,000 minimum.

I liked the snooker puzzle, actually I thought it was pretty easy. But I like all puzzles even the ones that make you think.

I don't know, the first couple of puzzles were pretty much a mystery to me, (I didn't get the bit about the hanky, which must refer to another sport I know nothing about), but the last three were much clearer and easier. But after taking about eleven moves to figure out the first one, and nine or more to get the second one, three easy ones didn't provide much help overall.

I used to play a mean game of pool (hanging out in too many bars) but have never even seen a game of snooker. Still managed to get a 6. Thought it was cheeky (Liam) & good for a laugh At the risk of knocking myself out of the top 10 for the month, if you get a puzzle like this, just quickly peruse the Wiki article on it before you start. Didn't your teachers tell you to study for a test

I did look at the Wiki article on snooker before I took the Puzzle. Didn't help in the least.

I agree with Tallactor. I "crammed " for the test too.
The Wiki article made me smarter [and more curious] about that game- but no real help in the puzzle.

However, Papermanbill's "love of the game" and an accidental hint he mentioned during a Shout helped with at least one clue.

Fun quiz!

Snooker is a game that was devised in India by British army Officers. It is a much better game to play, and more skillful, than Pool.

Hey Mr. Al- I was telling you about the red balls. Please specify that I mentioned this before the puzzle came out. I wouldn't want any of Sploofus' finest accuse us of wrong doing.

Barnie, I can see it's a tricky game, looks fun. I've never seen snooker played because girls weren't allowed in Billiards Halls when I was young. When I was in my 20's & started going to bars they only had pool & maybe, shuffleboard. I like them both

I quite like playing all three.

Randy, when I was twenty there was still horse and carraige companies. Pool, billiards, and bumper pool games were in all bars in the Chicago bars. There was one game that was hard to find using a shuffle board, I think it was called Horsecollar.
That took some realy skill. As far back as the 50's, women were allowed in bars in Chicago, but not always in Indiana, they had boothes or separate rooms.
