I'm surprised these various groups (the ones I'm in, anyway, which might be a reason!) aren't getting more interest.
Any ideas?

I bet they will take off more when 2.0 goes public. I think people who don't normally like to post in the public forums will find these much more inviting and interesting.

I was going to start another thread in here about the Shakespeare controversy (which I personally find very curious why anyone would get so worked up over it), but thought perhaps that would be better in the Shakespeare forum. Wasn't sure that was a very good conversation starter either.

It may take a bit of conversation seeding - starting quite a few threads to see which ones take off.

I'm thinking Sploofus needs to promote the groups a little more. Maybe a spotlight for the month or something. This is the first time I even looked at the community section. They need a little ad or something that promotes the groups in the various catagories. Just a little blurb or something.

I agree that a bit of promotion would not be amiss. As a new member, I'm just getting a feel of things and learning my way around. Stumbling blindly into forums and hoping for the best.

If my group discussion boards were listed in the menu on the right when I am in Salty Dog it would be really easy for me to bop in here and check out the discussions. (I put in an enhancement request for this already).

As it is now, it's a bit of a bother to check in on each and every group, with multiple clicks needed to get to the discussions.

Hi, I'm Sandy. I have to admit that most everything I've read about this era has been simplistic like "Pillars of the Earth", which I loved btw. Right now though I'm reading something really interesting. "The Sunne In Splendor" by Sharon Kay Penman. It presents Richard III in a different way than I've ever read and is so well written that I can't wait to read some of her other stuff. Anybody here read it, and if so, what did you think? I would really love to have some book suggestions from you guys who know a lot about this stuff. I enjoy both fiction and non.
