PERCENTAGES FOR SHOWDOWNS

Can someone tell me how the percentage is come up with for the showdowns? My percentage rate is 34 percent. I have won 5, lost 2 and there are 3 stalemates. This may be obvious to some but I don't get it.

Do you have any that are still outstanding? as they are counted towards the total number you have been involved in.
Andy.

I do! Thanks for shedding some light there. I don't understand why pending showdowns should factor into that percentage though. Maybe I should slow down on initiating showdowns. Anyway, thanks for the info!

Do you really have five pending showdowns?
5/15 would give that number... or 33% if they round down.

Knerd's [Karen] showdown percentage is currently 42%.
Things are looking up!

I see the "logic" behind the percentages.
I am currently at 50%.
I've won 3- lost 1- stalemate 1- amd 1 pending.

3 of 6 = 50%.

It better go up though!

Thanks for this informative post.

If you don't have any open showdowns & do the math, you will notice that stalemates are calculated as losses, instead of being a neutral statistic.

Okay, I get it now. Yes, things are looking up with 42 percent. 6 wins, 2 losses, 3 stalemates, and 3 pending. I didn't know that stalemates counted as losses though.

Thanks for all the comments!

Sometimes I'm a little anal: I noticed that my percentage went down after getting a stalemate so I payed closer attention to the victory percentage coupled with having only 1 showdown open at a time & sure enough, the next stalemate brought my numbers down.

I have a showdown that expired but it is still shown as pending. Does that mean it can still be answered even though time has run out? How long will it continue to be pending?

Management says no, but I've heard stories....
You should pick up the points tonight whenever your normal Sploofus
re-set comes around (it's 11 pm cst).

The showdown will show zero hours for a day before you get your points on an showdown that is expiring. The points are not awarded until about 3:00 am EST. The challenge can be answered anytime before you get the points. So even though it shows zero time it is still possible for the defender to answer the question.

The percentage is a statistic to show how often you win showdowns. Stalemates are not wins so they bring the percentage down.

Sargon is probably correct, especially about that extra day (or so)
after the clock runs out. My clocks always run out at 11 pm and I
thought that's when the points were added. There was a previous
discussion on this subject that was somewhat helpful:

Thanks, that was a very informative thread. Glad to know I'm not the only one to be frustrated by the process!
