LETTERBOXING THREAD

I couldn't find the original letterboxing thread, but just wanted to say that I tried my first trail today, thanks to that thread. It actually is the only trail around me (according the the main Letterboxing website) and was supposed to have 9 stops. But, since it was set up in 2005, three of those were missing/chopped down/paved over. Does anyone know of a website that has up-to-date letterboxes? Most of the ones on that official site seem to be quite old.

I went into this thread expecting to see a discussion about whether movies should be letter-boxed or not! LOL! Maybe I should start THAT letter-boxing thread!

Letterboxing is different to geocaching.
I didn't realise it was international - I think it originated in Dartmoor, England.
My son was into it prior to geocaching.
I'll check back with him & see what he knows.

I usually do letterboxing.org and although some are old an outdated some are new. You can also try http://www.atlasquest.com/ those are the two I am most familiar with. You may not have many in your area. Our local newspaper did an article on letterboxing and that is how I found out about it. Now we seem to have quite a few in my area. Maybe you can get your newspaper to do an article about it and get people in your area interested.

Been to both letterboxing. org, and atlasquest. Nothing about. Even joined the yahoo listserv for letterboxing. Was in an area today that has lots of them, but it was pouring. There will be another time.
