Does my memory fail me or is there an error in the Constitution? I have never sent in a support ticket before and do not know where to go. ...oh well.....

I already did, Elaine. There's another error, too. Support tickets are found by hitting Help at the bottom right of your screen if you're on Beta, on regular it's on the home page, I think, under player support

No I believe it is in the interpretation of the second amendment that the problem lies.

There were two errors, and they have been corrected. Support tickets get the job done. We're sorry about the problems.

My apologies to everyone who encountered the errors. I was relying too much on my own memory for these wel-known phrases. Of course, I had that backwards. When something is well-known you have to make extra sure that you get it exactly right.

I think the problem's in the 18th Amendment ...

Very fun puzzle Sploofishy! I enjoyed the change of pace. (If only my pace had been a little quicker on that last puzzle...)

I'm stunned!

I did a "fiver".

This was a GREAT word puzzle.

Studying history did pay off today.
My congrats to the editor for this real "trivia" gem.

Congrats on your fiver, Alvandy!

The only puzzle I got close to a fiver on was a blessed Star Trek puzzle which I got in 7 (or something close). I'm usually on Page 2 of the WP finishers. LOL

I would have probably gotten a fiver if I hadn't misremembered Roosevelt's most famous line--I was sure it was "We have nothing to fear but fear itself," but of course it turned out to be "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." Ah, well...

Tallactor [et al];

Yeah, I had that one [FDR] too. It was right there in the front of my mind.

I grew up in a generation that still had to learn some history; geography; reading, writing and arithmetic [along with encouragement for civic duty and voluntarism]

I watched a lot of TV and listened to radio; [we weren't distracted by "reality" shows back then. ]
I loved Jeopardy with Art Fleming [but also Hollywood Squares with Peter Marshall].

Alas, on the final MINUTES of that WP round, I dropped off to #11! Sorry to pout and vent a little here.
My "dog" is "salty" for sure.

Let's Sploof on.

from York ,PA -first capit... blah blah blah

Actually, I did all those things ,too (I even saw a taping of the original Art Fleming "Jeopardy!" back in the early 70s), so my misremembering wasn't because of a lack of education or a cultural ignorance--it was just my faulty memory.
