OK, PARENTS-TIME TO TALK TO KIDS NOW THAT THE WEATHER HAS CHANGED

Please talk to your kids about not picking up coral snakes, or anything odd for that matter. We encountered that this am at school. Emergency run to hospital with child in acute pain is terrible!

I'll be starting a curriculum for a second grade class [my grand-daughter's] as a Junior Achievement volunteer next week.
I'll incorporate that message in my presentation.

Second graders learn about My Community. [hmmmmm- they might even learn about "capitals."]

thank you Taco!

Can I please advise that if your child appears to have been bitten by something, it would be best to call the paramedics/EMTs IMMEDIATELY rather'n rush a child to hospital/clinic/doctor yourself.

If that child needs emergency treatment such as CPR, adrenalin, oxygen or other treatment, that child's life could be jeopardized by the loss of valuable minutes getting that treatment.

Those paramedics/EMTs can get to your child way faster'n YOU can drive to hospital. If the child does need to go to hospital, then he/she can be treated along the way.

Also note, if husband pisses you off, it is entirely acceptable to place said snake in bed, pick a fight and make sure you sleep on couch.

Not that I would EVER do anything like that....

Me.

I did not mean to imply that the EMS was not called. They were, and all is under control.

I used to tell my kids,,"Don't pick up Coral snakes or anything odd!" But they never listened to me.

Lotta snakes around where I live. All colors and shapes and they all have two legs. My three boys know how to bite back.

Paperman, I have had some experience with your areas "wildlife". I used to haul cars to an auction in Calumet City. Long time ago though.
