HAS ANYONE ELSE NOTICED...
We now have 109 billionaires here on Sploofus Island!
And three of our players have reached level 101 (but none of these three are billionaires!)
I just found that intriguing

That's why Sploofus is so great.
The "showdown" and "wager" format are the Sploofus equivalent of Wall Street.
The rich can get richer. [and vice versa].
I'm still in the middle class- but I am a "capitalist" on Sploofus Island.
Which reminds me.

Wow!! I remember being excited about my first million, and at that time a million points put you well into the top 100!!

How can anyone ever get that many points? It will take me a year to reach a million.

how fast you can achieve a million points will depend on how much time you have to explore the sploofus island. Wagering tokens on your 'Question of the Day' and winning showdown challenges will boost your points quickly. playing word rounds and word matches are a good way to rake in the points (even if you are only in the top 20 you can gain about 1000 points an hour playing just those two games.)
when the Beta 2.0 version is fully tested and released to the masses, the new games promise even more point opportunities.
most of those millionaires and billionaires have been playing for 2-3 years, so don't be intimidated. you've just begun the adventure here.

Loveland- Another way to start accumulationg points is to write quizzes. Not only does it get you points, it also is really fun to watch how many folks take your quizzes and see their comments.

I made my first million within about 6 weeks, it's do-able.
Wagers and showdowns can be lucrative if you get the questions right, but can drop you back down if you get the questions wrong.... A lot depends on how quick you are and how much of a gambler you are.
Wager tips: Only wager when you are at level .0 or .1, and save a TQOTD in an "easy" category to use for your wager (as long as it doesn't expire first).
Showdown tips: When you click on the Start a Showdown button, it will tell you who you'll be challenging (i.e. who is above you in the standings). Check their profile and see how often they come on the site. If it is someone whose points haven't changed in a while, they may not be a regular visitor and may never see the Showdown until it expires 7 days later. Also check their Showdown victory percentage and their average answering speed. If someone looks faster than you, you can do more quizzes or WP/WR/WM till you have enough points that you'll be challenging someone else (then check their profile and see if they are a better pigeon, I mean opponent).
Besides WR/WM where you can get approx 1000 points per hour (500 for WR, 500 for WM, even if your time sucks), imo the fastest and safest place to get points is in the WP (Word Puzzles). If you are a free player you can only play 1 time per week, but if you really want points it's definitely worth upgrading to Gold, then you can play twice a day -- and get up to 5,000 points each WP. Even if you are very slow and guess many wrong letters, you can make upwards of 4,000 points, twice a day. You have to do a lot of WR/WM to make that many points! Plus, I think that the WP's are the most rewarding and enjoyable game on the site. Challenging and fun at the same time.
I couldn't have reached a million so fast if I hadn't upgraded to Gold to do more WP. If you stay a free member, it will take longer to reach a million points but accumulating points is only one aspect of this neat site. Good luck-

When I first joined (12/2004) no one had a million points. Making a million took months will the point system, and with no WRs, WMs, or WPs. Making 5,000 points was putting in a long day.

Winning wagers on TQOTD are the best way to see your points add up quickly.
Losing wagers on TQOTD are the best way to ruin your day!! LOL!

Hi Loveland I've been here a month and its how much time you put into getting there. I have reached 1 million. I have taken a lot of quizzes. Good luck and I'm sure you'll be there in no time at all.
