I'm interested to know if any of you have done any acting in Shakespeare's plays? I've done quite a few, and directed several more.

Just wondering what your experiences might have been.

One of my most memorable was playing Kate in 'Shrew' with a gay Petruchio who was really embarrassed to kiss me on stage...and I was supposed to be playing the shy one when it came to kissing

Care to share your stories??

I wish. Some acting, no Shakespeare on stage, but I've participated in reading groups, and I love to read just about anything aloud, so the art of spoken Shakespeare holds great fascination.

Now that I've passed through Juliet, Ophelia, Portia, Kate, Lady Mac, and Cleo, not much left besides Mistress Quickly, a merry wife or a witch. Queen Margaret from R3 would be a good fit, I think. I do scorn and condemnation pretty well.

I will be teaching RIII this fall and prepping my kids to perform a Queen Margaret scene for the Utah competition. I saw a production in Seattle last summer where the Richard reminded my son and I of "House" (Hugh Laurie's tv show). Very cruel, uncaring, tall and lanky guy with a limp and a cane! Loved the Margaret though - very crazy!

I did some at school, played the professor in Emil and the Detectives. We performed it in the Theatre Royal in Lincoln. Was great fun, as far as I can remember
