Good wordpuzzle, Donna! I have watched a few races, but don't know a lot about it, but managed to keep all of my points. I surprised myself. Thanks!

I've never watched and know absolutely nothing except there are cars involved...and I kept all my points too!

Excellent puzzle, Smoke You really made it easy for us non-NASCAR folks to feel successful!

Whew! I took some liberties with some guesses that didn't pay off and had to add a few penalty laps (is there such a thing?)

Nicely done.

I had to take penalty laps (assuming they exist) for bad typing as well.

Nice WP, Smokie. I did pretty well considering how little I know about car racing!

Good puzzle for those of us that have NEVER watched a race at all. Great job, Donna!

well constructed puzzle -- but it must be something to do with cars (I'm temperamentally a non-driver) that just sends me to sleep.
It was just filling in words; no fun.
And really; until we have a bridge wp NO MORE NASCAR please. Just look at the number of puzzles we've had on the subject in the last two years; when other minority sports are properly represented (snooker anyone?) then you can bring it back.
For the non-expert non-interested its just a yawn.

OMG!!! I'm dumber than a box of rocks when it comes to NASCAR and I'm at number three!! This is especially delicious since more than 4 people have taken Smoke's puzzle! Thank you Smoke!

Good point. I'd love one on bridges! Fascinating subject, bridges - the physics involved, the engineering, massive amounts of materials and money, drastic changes in traffic patt...what?

Never mind.

I bet the ratio of NASCAR WPs to bridge WPs is right in line with the respective levels of interest. Talk about eyes glazing over.

What Maurlin said.

How exactly like me to overlook all the good comments and react to the negative. Sorry about that. What I meant to say was more like!

YEEHAW! Just what I was hoping to hear, you guys! Thanks!

It's not so much hard to write one (in my vast experience) as it is tricky. If it had been launched the way I wrote it, it would have been a big mess. Much credit to the Eds, who helped me get it better. They gave excellent suggestions I can share when it closes.

Here's hoping they let us do more, I can think of about 50 things off the top of my head I'd like to do one about. Bridges, for instance.

Hey, Sploofpeople, can we submit more? Huh, huh, can we please, please PLEASE???

Boogity boogity, y'all!

Well I am a nascar fan just made some stupid typos and losts some chances but kept all of my points. Will have to say through probably not as crazy as smoke is about Tony Stewart but that's what makes the world go round. Or the race cars lol. Good job smoke.

Good one Smoke. As a NASCAR fan I still used up a lot of letters. And I agree that race fans are probably more plentiful than the "sport" of Bridge.

Great puzzle! I enjoyed it and learned something. (However, it didn't help me with typos - would someone please write a WP that would help me eliminate typos?)

You've set the bar high for the rest of us. (Please be kind to me tomorrow morning...never too early to grovel.)

Thu, 1st May '08 1:10 PM stuff! However, I feel the need to explain my time (3,543 seconds).

I was on the 5th WP and I got a phone call. I had to go into a different room to get info for the phone caller, saw that the mail had come and went out to get it, read my mail and put it away, saw the newspaper opened to the comics page, which has the crossword puzzle on it, decided to do the corssword puzzle, finished it completely, checked to see whether I had done in within the 25 minute suggested time, wondered whether I would have time to do today's WP after I got back from doing errands, and then remembered I had already started it. Fortunately for me I was able to submit my 5th WP, sign back in because I had timed out, and then click back to see that my score had been credited, all the while going over in my mind what I would explain to Player Support when I asked that it be reset..

VERY strange experience!

Thank you all very much! I'm thrilled and so relieved that you liked it so well. I'm going to print this all out and wallpaper the dining room with my rave reviews.

Thanks, Donna - Now I have many things to read up on. Never heard of a bunch of that stuff - Great puzzle though. If I can keep all my letters, and most of it makes sense, that's all to the good.

I'll bet you were nervous!
