On the "Where" am I this morning, I got the right guess with the Canadian Police Memorium. What I didn't realize is that while I was googling and found the right photo, Nelly had already found the right photo and had typed in some guesses but apparently with a letter or so off in the spelling. I hadn't checked the guess list when I typed in the answer but did look at it after the green screen popped up.

I'm really sorry, Nelly. I would have backed off, cause I know you would have gotten the spelling wanted in a couple more tries. Unfortunately, this happened before - also, while Nellie was guessing a correct photo - Yikes! (next time I'll check the answer box to see if someone is right but not with the spelling wanted.) One time before this happened, and I pm'ed the person to tell them they were VERY close and to double check the Wiki page, but I guess they logged off and eventually someone else got the guess right.

Hi Pepper!

I think I was the one you pm'd about being on the right track, on the one about "Big", and I may have figured it out, but Chenoa wanted the computer, and by the time I read your message in the middle of the night, it was too late. I really appreciated your effort though to help me out. Thanks! I saw where Nelly was close, and I think I found the picture right about the time you were guessing.

Thanks Pepper. Apology not necessary. Can someone pick up my rattle please ... it's down there on the ground!

I knew it was in Canada, saw the little maple leaf. Good job Pepper & Nelly for figuring it out

Randy, you had an eagle eye on that Maple Leaf! I couldn't figure out that symbol OR the one below it!

It's enjoyable to me to see what's unfolding in 2.0 and read these snippets. I enjoy Sploofus as it is will be more addicted when 2.0 is unveiled. Thanks for all for the hard work, no "boos" from me about the time it's taking, it's all good, I'll be reaping the benefits!

(thanks Mplaw)

Sploofizz, that's exactly what it feels like when a clue is posted. You know everyone is making a bee line for the right answer and if you find it or think you find it you start pumping in answers as fast as your little fingers can type!

This is just one person's opinion (and keep in mind, I'm completely addicted, so you might want feedback from someone who is more sane...), I think your suggestion is a good one for the person who is on the mark but just hasn't typed in the correct combination yet.

But, if everyone wants to leave it at the pirranha feeding frenzy, that's okay, too.

In this scenario, I just wanted to be fair to Nelly.

The same thing happened to Nelly on Count Dooku. I guessed Christopher Lee then saw the sorry box and then guessed Count Dooku and got the green box. Not until then did I see Nelly's guesses and I know she would have gotten the correct spelling but I was not looking at the prior guesses just knew those fingers in the picture and was typing quickly. We really both knew the correct answer but as in many cases you find names spelled differently depending on the source. So my apologies to Nelly also.

I can hardly wait for 2.0 to become public so that I can also participate in all these neat things I hear everyone talking about!

Me, too, Flcyclist! (sorry for hashing out some of this stuff on the message boards...but it sounds like some of this may help in the beta update.)

Lucimoore, spelling does count. If there are spelling variations, then we try to include them. Of course if we miss a variation, then we will give credit if necessary. If you misspell a name (as in Count Dooku, which didn't have any other correct variations according to the official Star Wars data bank) then you won't get credit for it.

If in doubt as to a spelling, you can always check the wikipedia spelling because that version will always be included in the answer choices.

Wow Sploofizz! I thought about a lockout for 2 or 3 minutes after certain keywords were entered, when this subject was first discussed, but thought it probably wasn't possible. However, I do think your suggestion "subsequent similar guesses could be hidden from the public list so other players could not see you were on the right track", is a brilliant idea! This would put all players on an equal footing when trying to guess the correct wording.

What Nelly said. And the lockout with extra guesses allowed would be a great idea under normal conditions (no clue posted), but maybe the fastest piranhas should just slug it out after a clue is posted.

That sounds fair Larry. No lock out or extra guesses once clue given, but still hide a player's subsequent guesses if they hit the right key words. Question is - is it possible?

I have no idea if any of these suggestions are possible, but I trust that Justin could find a way
