I liked this puzzle a lot though I did not do especially well.
I'm sure it is tough to compose these puzzles and much easier to criticize them.
My view is that it is not enough to pick an 'interesting' subject the phrases -- and hopefully the clues -- have to be interesting. My guess is that this comes with practice; but Cathy did a great job.

Good job, Cathy! I've enjoyed how each platty puzzle has been different.

(note to Garrybl: yup, easier to take and critique a WP than to write it. For me the hardest part was creating clues that related but didn't give too much away.)

Not so much a criticism as an observation: I found the juxtaposition of long phrases with short, one or two word phrases to be a bit disconcerting. Maybe just because it seemed out of the norm.

I had fun with the theme and the clues, and got the short ones with no letters!

No complaints here, I got all the short ones.

Thanks, Cathy!

I liked it and did well. I really only like puzzles where there is at least a shot at guessing without any moves.

BTW, there was a small error in a clue, I sent in a ticket. Nothing major.

They are tough to write. Mine runs May 13...

i think i'm green with envy because i had some 'slap your forehead moments' after i guessed several wrong letters..

I thought it was a great puzzle. However, I am curious to know if the people who scored 5 had the one with the clue "Kill Bill". That one killed me.

I didn't have that one.

yo Letterman, the quiz is still live, don't give clues.

That said, I didn't get it, but I probably would have got it without any moves. I'll mail you what I think, letterman

I liked the Kill Bill one - however there was an easy one that I went for with no letters and realized I was wrong just as my finger was hitting the enter key. Doh! Thanks Cathy for another really fun puzzle.

I liked this puzzle also.

I got one without any letters and the rest stayed true to the theme- a little "detective"
work required so that makes it fun.

Nice work Cathy!

I got "Kill Bill" with one letter, Lettermanfan1, although I looked up the correct spelling of her name in advance thanks to your spoilery post. "Nature" was the one that threw me -- three wrong vowel guesses before hitting O and getting "chlorophyll." It's tough when you don't know if "green" will be part of the puzzle or just inferred.

I had it in my pea brain that this would be about the environment so when I got "nature" as the 1st clue I was looking for words that fit my scenario (stubborn bloody woman). After I lost 600 points the light finally went on. The rest was fairly easy, just wish I'd got them in a different order Good job, Cathy

Really enjoyed this quiz although I had to hurry through it before I left town for the day. Wish I could have taken a little more time to enjoy the clues and guessing letters. Great job on a puzzle.
