Will some of you hurry up and take Sun's puzzle to get my score far enough down the list it doesn't show up?????

I found this one rather tough except for one that came easy. I probably just didn't take the time to study it before typing in letters.

It wasn't your fault, Sun. After I finally got the answers I had the "DUH" moment when I discovered they weren't quite as tough as I had tried to make them. Good for you for writing a challenging puzzle for us.

I took it, I didn't understand it, but I took it. Amazing puzzle. Good work!

I just didn't get it at all.

I thought I was getting it but it eluded me. I did not do well. It showed alot of thought and effort and I have to applaud that even if I wasn't smart enough to understand!!!

I'm sorry...I think that's the hardest part of writing these for me. I wanted it to be "medium", not too hot...not too cold.

If anyone wants an explanation, pm me and I will be glad to explain.

I did have a really "fun" one planned...but now no one will believe me! Just I'll overcompensate.

I'm looking forward to that, Sun. However, no judgement here. I haven't even written one!

Incredibly difficult, and one or two that I got barely made sense--it seemed as though it was designed to be unusually tricky--and it was!

I enjoyed the puzzle I knew half and guessed at the rest.

I'm missing what the problem was. It seemed pretty clear and straightforward and i got one of my best scores. Fun puzzle, Sun!

Great idea; I had a lot of problems with individual clues (or elements thereof) and even after solving the clues did not know what the author was driving at.
Probably my stupidity I expect.

Nice job Sunny! I did fairly well (anything in the top 50 is good for me!) and enjoyed the brain workout.

I understood the theme - I just kept guessing the wrong letters! Fun one Sun - I love an ungoogleable WP.

Thanks for a very creative challenge, Sun! I understood what you were doing after solving my first phrase. I was a bit thickheaded with a couple of my phrases, but I really enjoyed the theme and variety. I thought the clues were right on target.

I'm sorry but I didn't get it. Some of the phrases were way over my head but it was tricky and that is what makes WP fun.

I found that once you catch on to the theme, the rest is easy! Thanks for a fun/sun puzzle, Sunny!

I didn't get the dog one - that's what blew me out (forgot to write clue so not positive of exact phrasing)

Tallactor  (Level: 153.1 - Posts: 423)

Actually, even after getting the theme, I thought it was very difficult to figure out. I couldn't find much consistency to the answers--some were straightforward examples, while others seemed to be merely tangential words. I never knew what the answers were going to have to do with the clues, which made it very tricky and, frankly, more frustrating than fun.

Suzer22  (Level: 166.3 - Posts: 1982)

It was the mix of regular terms and very scientific words that threw me...periheliatic, or something like that, was in my second phrase, and there were at least two others later on.

My first puzzle was about the ASU Sun Devil...clue was "devil", so as an Arizona resident I immediately thought "Sun Devil" and saw "Arizona State University" with no letters! But I kept trying to make the rest of the phrase have to do with "mascot" or "Sparky" (his nickname), or "Tempe" (the city the University is in), or SOMETHING to complete a phrase about that one thing. Took me many letters to realize it was an "or" knd of phrase!

I bet the science geeks did better with this one

Not a science geek but managed a 7th place. Tricky but fun. Nice job, Sun

The Swastika one scared me

From these comments, I deduce that Sun must be an editor.

LOL!...very funny Jank...

Diva...I'm so sorry! The swastika as a sun symbol in history was not always associated with evil...I should have been more thoughtful.

Kaelin: Sun dog...if you google it, gives you parhelia or mock sun in the first two entries. I thought that would be easier. Wrong again....

Tallactor, you are absolutely right. The inconsistencies in the puzzle (scientific, figurative, abstract, cause and effect) were the biggest problem. Suzer, your astute example is very much appreciated, as was all your comments.

It was frustrating for many, I know, though you have been all been so sweet and encouraging! Thank you for that and know that my intentions were not to trick you, just make it challenging and different. I have learned a lot doing this! I am more in awe than ever of the editors that wrote so many and did so well!

SunEEsus (my nickname for Eesusbejesus) time it will be ALL sunshiny!

Thank you all for working so hard...and working so hard to find good things to say! I time will be better, I promise!

Sun (Consuelo)
