What a nice WP. I was afraid to attempt this one but I ended up loving it. Great job!

Excellent! My husband is a professor in a prestigious university teaching music theory and this kicked his butt. Great puzzle! How did you do sliko?

I enjoyed the puzzle, but one title seems to be misspelled, or at least a less common alternate, so beware.

P.S. I have sent in a support ticket for the above problem.

I must be getting more culture since joining Sploofus.
I did very well.
Excellent clues to match the puzzles.
Congrats Rowlanda. [remember my spelling!-- ]

Good stuff, Row. That was a great WP!

Now everybody go on vacation or something so I can stay in the top 10.

You know - I'm the weirdest music teacher I know. I LOVE singing arias, but I hate sitting through an opera. I can't seem to mentally handle everything being sung - I start wanting to claw the paint off the wall. Les Mis provokes the same reaction, and it's my absolute fave.

I knew all the operas within one letter but, once again, cannot get one word in the puzzle without a lot of guesses.

Jank....have you been snacking on lead paint chips AGAIN????
Good cats do not scatch walls....

Thank you for the complimentary remarks, I do appreciate them.
When writing the 10 puzzles, I put them in a particular order so
people could see how unimportant the story is, to the enjoyment
of opera. As with's the theme not the content
that's important....

Now that it's my turn to be on the "hotseat" as a Puzzle author....
I find that the WORST thing about it is - now I'm going to have to
wait ANOTHER 12 hours to experience the fun and challenge of doing
a Word Puzzle

Did you take your own WP? If not, it's OK to do so. It might not be very fun since you wrote it, but I found it interesting to take my own WP.

Anyway, thank you for a wonderful opera WP! Your clues were easy to follow, and I enjoyed all of my phrases. Lots of fun! Now just cue some music!

RowRow - I was terrified of your puzzle but I did it and kept all my points! Thanks for writing it so us non-melodramatic people could finish it.

And upon looking them up, what fascinating stories. Not being an opera fan, I was unfamiliar with them, but now I'm curious as to whether I would enjoy them. Thanks for the enlightenment!

BRAVO! Thanks so much for taking me back where I so used to love to be. Scored terribly and made so many spelling errors, just my stupidity of not reading what I keyed. Encore, Madame!

AWESOME!! I thought that I would have to make a ton of guesses, but...I had a fast trigger finger and made about 4 STUPID errors instead. The level of the puzzle was perfect for non-opera lovers! THANKS!!

Enjoyed this as well . I have to agree with Bleepy that I made a couple of errors that were avoidable.

It is one thing to misspell a word but when there is an extra space between two words it counts as an error as well.

It's hard for me to tell where an extra space is if I have one, so it's a matter of trying to backspace between several words to see where it is. This leads to other issues if it's a long sentence sometimes the words get jumbled up.

Is there a way to correct the extra space issue?

Happy to say I kept all my points and I'm not an opera buff. Happier still that I knew all that were used in the puzzles I had. Still didn't stop my usual high score....I just don't have the patience to sit and figure it out....
Fine puzzle, well done!

I've even seen several of these operas and still did terribly. Maybe someone can give me some tips on solving wps. I suck.

Who knew opera rocked? Great puzzle, Row, enjoyed it immensely, right to the end.

Well done, girlfriend!

I recall Tony Randall talking about grand opera on late night television and exulting over how dirty the plots often are, once you get through translating into your first language. Kind of high class porn.

Really enjoyed your WP, Row!

Enjoyed your puzzle, Rowlanda, although I admit I was worried about taking it. The first puzzle took 25 (!) moves; after that I didn't do quite so badly. I know almost nothing about opera (note my score for proof) but it was a good puzzle and a learning experience for me. Thanks for producing a great puzzle.

My problem is the opposite. I always have to edit carefully
otherwise my sentences would be the longest in history....
with NO spaces

You've heard of Rock Operas, haven't you Smoke....and thanks
for the compliments

And Jim - you BAD boy - you have to turn the sound ON
when you're watching those kind of movies!!!!
Or is talking a "distraction" for you????
