HOW ABOUT THOSE PENGUINS!

Was that a game or what last night! The Redwings are an amazing team but my Penguins held on!

It was definitely a game. My hubby said three people in his office came to work late because they overslept after staying up for the finish -- but it was worth it. We were all exhausted from the tension.
Go Pens!

As happens often in Sploofus it was a fluke. Detroit will win by three goals next game.

If Osborne plays that bad again, Pens win. He really looked out of position on a number of plays.

Here in Ottawa we get CBC (Canadian station) and NBC (US station from Detroit). They are 8 and 9 on the dial. Yes I have a remote. The Canadian station showed the singing of the US National anthem and the US station did not, they had commercials. Can anyone explain why?

A possibility- American commercialism and profit motives outweigh patriotism.

Except when it suits the purposes of Wall Street.

I had radio on, would rather listen to local guys -- we had the national anthem on there.

Broadcasts used to always have the anthem in the US. Then (maybe in the 1980s), someone realized it was the perfect time to cut away for commercials. And they did until September, 2001. Then the anthem was back on the air all the time. And now the pendulum seems to be gravitating toward an equilibrium where it may or may not be heard, depending.
