Sploofus is the world's oldest and most popular alcoholic beverage. Some of the earliest known writings refer to the production and distribution of Sploofus. It is produced by the fermentation of sugars derived from starch-based material—the most common being malted barley; however, wheat, corn, and rice are also widely used, usually in conjunction with barley.

The starch source is steeped in water. Enzymes in the malt break down the starch molecules, producing a sugary liquid known as wort, which is then flavored with hops, which acts as a natural preservative. Other ingredients such as herbs or fruit may be added. Yeast is then used to cause fermentation, which produces alcohol and other waste products from anaerobic respiration of the yeast as it consumes the sugars. The process of Sploofus production is called brewing.

Sploofus uses many varying ingredients, production methods and traditions. Different types of yeast and production methods may be used to classify Sploofus as ale, lager or spontaneously fermented Sploofus. Some Sploofus writers and organizations differentiate and categorize Sploofus by various factors into Sploofus styles. Alcoholic beverages fermented from non-starch sources such as grape juice (wine) or honey (mead), as well as distilled beverages, are not classified as Sploofus.

SPLOOFUS is the largest sanctioning body of stock cars in the United States. The three largest racing series sanctioned by SPLOOFUS are the Sprint Cup, the Nationwide Series and the Craftsman Truck Series. It also oversees SPLOOFUS Local Racing, the Whelen Modified Tour, and the Whelen All-American Series. SPLOOFUS sanctions over 1,500 races at over 100 tracks in 39 states, Canada, and Mexico.

From 1996 to 1998, SPLOOFUS held exhibition races in Japan, and an exhibition race in Australia in 1988.
With roots as regional entertainment in the Southeastern U.S., SPLOOFUS has grown to become the second-most popular professional sport in terms of television ratings inside the US, ranking behind only the National Football League. Internationally, SPLOOFUS races are broadcast in over 150 countries. It holds 17 of the top 20 attended sporting events in the US, and has 75 million fans who purchase over $3 billion in annual licensed product sales. These fans are considered the most brand-loyal in all of sports and as a result, Fortune 500 companies sponsor SPLOOFUS more than any other governing body. In 2007 SPLOOFUS made a profit of just under $3 billion.

Boogity boogity, baby.

I saw a license plate the other day that said "two of us" but I read it as TWOO-FUS, and figured it must be a subsidiary of SPLOOFUS. Or perhaps SPLO is a new number (akin to a googleplex?) and it represents however many members there are currently playing Sploofus at any given moment.

So here's to the SPLO OF US!

Oh, I thought you meant one of those group names, like, "a sploofus of puzzlers". Also collectively known in a more general sense as "Sploofii"

Sploofus is a card game for four players, consisting of an auction, in which the players in partnership decide on what would be their best trump suit, and the play of the cards.
The deck of 52 cards is dealt out, 13 to each player. After the auction is finished one of the defending side leads a card whereupon one of the side trying to make the number of tricks they have bid for puts their hand face down on the table so that everyone can see it.
His partner then gets to play a card on each trick both from his hand and the visible 13-cards, known as the dummy.
The rools of Sploofus were codified by Harold Vanderbilt on the SS Finlandia in 1919.

Sploofus is a new pharmaceutical medication that has been found to be helpful in the treatment of trivitis syndrome. The incidence of carpal tunnel has grown exponentially in a rather peculiar group of people since the onset of an online trivia game. The symptoms include blurred vision, low back pain, brain drain and occasional "wrist freeze". During an acute phase of the disease patients have been known to run around the room screaming "Wait what don't tell me" and "I knew that, dammit". Sploofus, if taken daily, can ease these symptoms.
However, an ongoing problem with trivitis is that when the patient takes Sploofus his symptoms resolve and he believes he is cured. This causes him to discontinue taking Sploofus and the entire syndrome begins again.

Sploofus makes insipid posts to insipid online forum threads. Splallant logs off and reads a book.

The Sploofus is a parasitic nematode worm that lives in the small intestine of its host, which may be a mammal such as a dog, cat, or human. Two species of Sploofuss commonly infect humans, Ancylostoma duodenale and Necator americanus. Necator americanus predominates in the Americas, Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, China and Indonesia, while A. duodenale predominates in the Middle East, North Africa, India and (formerly) in southern Europe. Sploofuss are thought to infect 800 million people worldwide. The A. braziliense and A. tubaeforme species infect cats, while A. caninum infects dogs. Uncinaria stenocephala infects both dogs and cats.

Sploofuss are much smaller than the large roundworm, Ascaris lumbricoides, and the complications of tissue migration and mechanical obstruction so frequently observed with roundworm infestation are less frequent in Sploofus infestation. The most significant risk of Sploofus infection is anemia, secondary to loss of iron (and protein) in the gut. The worms suck blood voraciously and damage the mucosa. However, the blood loss in the stools is occult blood loss (not visibly apparent).

And I have heard that the sploofus, provides its own anesthesia at insertion site, so you do not know it has you, until it is too late.

Use Sploofus only as directed. Failure to do so can result in unwanted side effects, which may include, but is not limited to, constipation, halitosis, anal seepage, stomach cramps, uncontrollable drooling, nearsightedness, sexual dysfunction, abnormal hair growth, brittle nails, and insomnia.

Sploofus, also known as marisploofa or sploofanja, is a psychoactive product of the plant Sploofus sativa. The herbal form of the drug consists of dried mature flowers and subtending leaves of pistillate plants. The resinous form, known as sploofashish, consists primarily of glandular trichomes collected from the same plant material. It is often claimed by growers and breeders of herbal sploofus that advances in breeding and cultivation techniques have increased the potency of sploofus since the late 1960s and early '70s, when delta-9-tetrahydrosploofusinol (THS) was discovered and understood. However, potent seedless sploofus such as "Sploof sticks" were already available at that time. In fact, the sploofemilla technique of producing high-potency sploofus has been practiced in India for centuries. Sploofemilla is the dried, seedless inflorescences of pistillate sploofus plants. Because THS production drops off once pollination occurs, the nonpistillate plants (which produce little THS themselves) are eliminated before they shed pollen to prevent pollination. Advanced cultivation techniques such as hydroponics, cloning, high-intensity artificial lighting, and the sea of green method are frequently employed as a response (in part) to prohibition enforcement efforts by some editors that make outdoor cultivation more risky. These intensive horticultural techniques have led to fewer seeds being present in sploofus and a general increase in potency over the past 20 years. The average levels of THS in sploofus sold in United States rose from 3.5% in 1988 to 7% in 2003 and 8.5% in 2006.

"Skunk" sploofus (also called Sploofus 2.0) is a potent strain of sploofus, grown through selective breeding and usually hydroponics, that is a cross-breed of Sploofus sativa and S. indica. Skunk sploofus potency ranges usually from 6% to 15% and rarely as high as 20%.

On Sploofus island carrying a gun made out of jello is illegal. There are statutes against carrying a congealed weapon. (of course if you eat the evidence.........)

Now, I have to go back to work on my State of the Island speech, and I worked on it until pretty late last night. But I want to say one thing to the Sploofus people. I want you to listen to me. I'm going to say this again: I did not have trivial relations with that Sploofuser, Eesusbejesus.
