HI, WHAT PAPERCRAFTS DO YOU LIKE?

Hi,

I've been doing papercrafting for about 2 years. I've done some scrapbooking, but I like making cards and other papercrafts.

Do you take classes? What publications do you subscribe to? What are your favorite resources for finding product?

Hi! I was excited to find this group. I am a craft junky. I enjoy it all, including paper crafts. My newest endeavors are quilling and origami. I am ok with the origami and doing pretty well with the quilling. The quilling is theraputic. I have made lots of cards, created scrapbooks, made paper and decoupaged. I can't wait to find some new ideas here!

I've done a little quilling but not good at it yet.

Right now I'm working on mini albums in different formats. Last summer I made a mini album out of flip flops and put photos on it from when my dog went to a major league baseball game.

I've also done a mini calendar using lunch paper sacks, cut in half with the pages attached to two binder rings. On one page in the calendar and on the facing page is a photo, background paper and embellishments representing something about that month. (If you're interested, I'll post a photo on my profile page. It's hard to explain...)

That sounds like fun! I would love to see a picture. I am sure it is easier than it sounds. Tonight I finished a woven tote bag. It was a kit. It turned out very cute. I can't wait to use it tomorrow!

Okay...I'm curious now. What kind of material did you use to weave the tote? If you can post a photo, I'd love to see it. I'll dig through some photos this weekend and post the flip flop album and the paper sack calendar.

I went to the Great American Scrapbook Convention last weekend in Arlington, TX and I saw someone (I don't remember the company name) sell a flip flop book kit. Small, unusual album kits seem to be "in" right now.

Hi folks
I am so pleased that you have chosen to join this group.
I'm Jane, 48 and live in UK
My first love is scrapbooking, but I love to make my own cards too. I am also an avid trader of ATC's. I just love those mini works of art and have some from other countrys too.

I will pop back and chat some more when I have time.

Hi, Everyone,
I've posted a photo of the mini calendar using paper sacks. By the time you do 12 months and add the calendar pages and photos, it can stand up on its edges because it's so thick.

Hi, Jane,
Hate to ask a stupid question, but what is ATC?

Thanks.

My first visit to the groups area and to find a paper crafting group, especially with scrapbooking listed made my day

I love to scrapbook and have both my girls involved. I grew up with a mom who saved everything for doing crafts and have done many, so have ended up using some of that "experience" in my scrapbooking.

I've tried making cards, but have never been happy with them OR didn't want to get rid of them cause they were cute.

I swap online, but not as much as I used to, but it's a great way to either add to your supplies by not having to buy 100 or a great way to get ideas and see what others do and then add them to your scrapbook.

Never done ATCs, tho they'd be a nice addition to a scrapbook.

A great quilling kit to get is by Klutz. It is a kid's publication but it includes everything you need to get started. If you buy everything you need, it will cost over $30 while the book is about $10-$15 (really good with a coupon). Michaels has it or you can get it at the Klutz website.

Thanks, that is a great idea to get a kid's kit to start learning. I'll check it out!

Our telephone line is crackly, so can't use my dialup where the few pictures I have of my pages are. I can't put pictures on that computer, as no memory left or not much. Am waiting for hubby to set up "new" desktop with internet. Will probably have a long time to wait.

Am on dd's laptop and using a neighbor's wireless connection. Don't know neighbor and sure hope he doesn't mind.

My local yahoo group was doing a challenge and part of it was to download pictures, so a friend would take pics of my pages and post them. That's the only way I got pics of my pages on the computer.

Wow, Dwayla, you've got some connection/memory challenges! If it gets sorted out, would love to see your work!
