If so, please stop reading this and go back to editing quizzes! Only 5 have gone live since 9 Saturday evening, and it's now after 12 noon on Sunday.

This must be my favorite whine, with or without cheese. 12 new quizzes posted since midnight on Saturday, June 21st and it is now 4 PM on Sunday...16 hours later. Are all you editors still praying? Now that pretty much everyone has had ample opportunity to take the quizzes on the 30 newest quizzes, isn't it time to move them along? (Can you guess that mine is not among those with all the extra "airtime") Grumble, grumble, grouse.

Linda - You come here and work in my garden, and I will be glad to sit at the computer and edit quizzes. Oh yeah - there is the house to clean as well.

You mean Justin doesn't have all you editors chained together in one big room? I faithfully promise to do your gardening and house cleaning, Scout's Honor, as soon as I get around to finishing mine. Of course I haven't even started mine since I spend so much time at the computer writing these dumb quizzes.

House cleaning? I don't need no stinkin' house cleaning!

What is this "house cleaning" you speak of? I know not these words together.

I mess around like this and I get six Music TQOTD's or Snooker.

Maybe you get music and snooker 'cause you're messing around?

You editors must have the cleanest houses and best gardens on the island. It's been 20 hours so far, and 1 new quiz has gone live in the last 4 hours. Justin must do a white clove inspection of your habitations before he lets you near any waiting quizzes.

Well I haven't been around all weekend! I've been doing summer "out and about" stuff. Picnics with family, visiting with friends. No housecleaning...

I wonder if the editors ever take weekend trips and have family time during the weekends...away from the computer and the unpaid job of editing quizzes...answering support tickets...monitoring the live games here. I don't want to think about it... hope there's an army of them.

And I hope they are all enjoying the summer solstice!

As Consuelo says, some of us are vacationing, and some are traveling; a few are working their paid jobs, at least one is ill, and there is always the possibility that some are cleaning house, but we are doing our best to keep things moving.

Our best may not be ideal, but it IS our best. I can't speak for the rest of the gang, but yesterday and last night I processed at least 30 quizzes, CQs and kerblunks, and fielded upwards of a dozen support tickets, in addition to putting together another mailing list for Platipuzzes, writing one of my own, and communicating with my associates on various editorial and membership matters.

Today I took for my family, and spent a wonderful day outdoors with friends and loved ones, getting too much sun and having too much to eat. I'm sorry I wasn't able to get to your quiz yet, but I think I can still manage to get a few done before bed.

I hope everyone had a really nice weekend - Here comes Monday!

Thank you for taking on such a thankless job. I think we might be a bit more diplomatic if you editors weren't nameless and faceless. We forget our rants don't go to an office where editors put in an 8-hour day, 7/365.

Thanks for everything you and the other editors do, and I look forward to your WP! Also, please tell whoever is ill that I hope they feel better soon. I'm sure those sentiments are echoed by most here.

Hey...they're echoed by me too, too, too, too. You do hear the echo, don't you? And after all, guys and gals who are editors, my post about your virtually thankless job got you lots of thankful resonses. Truly, I am much appreciative of all you do! Mea maxima culpa if I p***ed anyone off.

I'll be an editor only if I can admit I am always not right .

What no one has mentioned is the number of quizzes that we have read during any given time period and have had to send back for one reason or another. If you see 6 quizzes go live, it's a sure bet that that editor waded through at least 9 of them.

Correction : Not always right. See what I mean.
