I don't expect a new question or anything, because what I did was my fault. (And it was such an easy question about a popular movie, too!) I thought I had specified an answer, and then hit "Enter" (or whatever the button says meaning here's my answer). Then I realized I hadn't hit my selection choice hard enough, and it didn't register. So I went back and did it again, and hit "Enter" again, all within a few seconds.
I got a "Sorry" reply, apparently because my first "Enter" didn't actually specify any answer, and "Sorry" was responding to that.
Suggestion: since I don't think anyone would deliberately hit "Enter" without specifying an answer, I suggest that such an "Enter" not be taken by Sploofus as
completing the player's answer. If the player notices that he hasn't actually selected any answer at all, let him then choose one (if it's still within 30 seconds) and hit "Enter" again. (Probably logistically impossible!)

Sounds so logical I can't imagine the bigwigs would approve such a thing.......jk. Good idea.

I'm guessing you are talking about TQOTD
How did you manage to go back in????
Once I hit that "submit" button
it seems to me to be game over

I've had this happen before and actually screamed NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO as I saw the counter counting down and my click didn't enter. It sucks.

To Rowlanda - Sorry, yes, I was referring to TQOTD. This happens during the 10 seconds or so between hitting "Submit" and the response of either "Sorry" or "Congratulations."
It was during this time that I realized I had not actually picked any answer but had hit "Submit." That "submit" counted, even though I had not picked the correct answer (or any other).

Been there, done that and it sucks. The solution you are proposing sounds like one of the things Justin tried here on the island but got voted off. LOL He had it set up for a while that if you didn't click all the answers in a WR that a warning would pop up saying that you hadn't selected enough answers or something like that. It frustrated those of us who would rush in at the last minute and try to just click one answer and get a 10% just to get any amount of points and it eventually was done away with.

It will probably take some programming - hitting the "enter" key for submit is a typical response for most websites - like hitting the tab key to move from one box to the other - It will probably take some pretty intense programming to "reverse" and normal response to forms (which everything you "submit" is)

That's just my 2 sense - and yes I've done it too on WR's & WM's - because I keep one hand close to the enter key as I scroll and click the radio buttons - and I've hit the enter key b4 the radio button by split seconds - so you just gotta be careful :P)

I know I'll get disagreement on this, but why have a timer except for the entire thirty seconds. With the TQOTD aren't most of us concerned with just getting the level point ?? I've lost at least five Showdowns by fractions of a second when I've had correct answers, this is upsetting losing by one tenth of a second. It also seems that certain times of the day seem to affect the times on word rounds and matches. Players getting sub ten second rounds is not even something to discuss.

Papermanbill, I do like the bonus points I get for speed on the TQOTD. And I like that our profiles show our average speed -- makes a difference when I'm deciding who to stage a showdown against.
