Tiger Woods and Rocco Mediate were tied after their 18 hole playoff for the U.S. Open, and then Tiger won the sudden death playoff.

Broke my freaking heart. I watched the whole round yesterday and then stayed home and watched the whole round today.

I despise Tiger, he's a corporate robot. Mediate is totally cool and would have been the oldest man ever to win a US Open.

I don't play golf, but I actually started watching golf matches on TV when Tiger started playing as a pro. I think that is true of a large number of non-golfers. I see him as just "nice".

I cannot watch golf when it's All Tiger, All the Time. I was rooting for Rocco to beat him and hoping that knee would give out.

If you love golf you have to appreciate what Tiger has done for the game. Not only is he the best player in the world right now he is also a gentleman (yes he lets some words fly but don't we all) and does so much for youngsters who are trying to learn the game even when they can't come close to affording the expense. He has taken in stride nasty, hateful and bigoted remarks which is so much more than I could ever hope to do. Onward and upward Mr. Woods.

I'm a big Tiger fan, but I fell in love with Rocco this weekend. He was funny, humble and having a blast! I look forward to seeing more of him. Tiger is totally classy, a lovely man who uses his fame and money for the good of others. It cracks me up when people say he's just lucky...give me a break! I don't think any of us will live long enough to see anyone with Tiger's skill on the golf course.

I enjoyed Rocco myself this weekend. He was having a ball. My biggest disappointment was Phil Mickelson. He played on that course in high school for crying out loud, what a poor showing.
I agree that Tiger is great for the sport. Anyone who brings that level of attention to any sport is good for the sport.
Call him a corporate robot, whatever, that's no robot beating the pants off most everyone he's up against.
I missed today, the sudden death. Good for Rocco as well to hang in there with Woods, mentally that's not easy. As for Tiger's pain, that's sports.

I agree with you Leah. I watched the entire tournament from start to finish. How exciting! Rocco Mediate is really fun to watch and such a good sport. Yesterday when Tiger had finished the 18th and Rocco came out of the clubhouse to meet him, that told the tale of both men. I hated to see either of them lose today. Rocco's my kind of person, loves to play golf and loves to gamble.

I do not like Tiger Woods. One can admire his skill and mental toughness but the PGA knows he is their golden boy and will do all to accommodate him. Never was this more clear than in the 2000 PGA championship in a sudden death playoff. The ball went into a unplayable area that was beyond a brick wall on an decline the ball was seen going down then was seen going back up the hill. It was kicked back into play by person(s)unknown. The replay clearly shows this but no penalty was assessed to Woods. Bob May would have won that hole and the tournament which he later lost. Too bad for Rocco he deserved better.

I was a big fan of both Palmer and Nicklaus, but I really adore Tiger. Rocco had such a great game and attitude that I was on the fence on this match as to whom I wanted to see win. I was rooting for both! LOL
