Well, you can definitely tell I haven't spent much time down south! That's the most points I think I've ever lost. Really fun puzzle though! Learned some new slang.

This one cleaned my clock.
I used up all letters on one and couldn't figure it out. Then I said it out loud, and couldn't stop laughing. That had to be the primo "duh" moment I've ever had on a WP. (I have a Texan comment I could add, but it might be on a puzzle I didn't see.)
So, without spilling the beans, very funny!

Fun and funny Marsha. Guess Texas and Tennessee are not that far apart. And we do own shoes.

I'm from Pennsylvania- didn't learn this stuff in PA Dutch country.
One puzzle really socked me- where did the alphabet go?
Still, a fun set of puzzles and a learning experience.
My bad.

Wow - I didn't think my 2 trips to Austin would serve me that well. (The good clues definitely helped!)
Really fun puzzle Marsha - I laughed out loud twice.

Yeah-ha Marsha, tricky but fun I'm quite pleased with my score. Must have something to do with the first song I ever learned was The Yellow Rose of Texas & watching Westerns with my Dad. He always said "Oh mush" if they put a love scene in & to this day, that phase goes through my brain, when I see one Still like Westerns, though, wish they'd do more. My oldest step-son, is named Tyrell, as in Sackett, so hubby likes them too.

Thanks for all the kind words. I actually thought people would hate it. Sad to say, but some of us really do talk like that. AND have that nasal twang!

Nucular is just Dubya being true to his roots. He doesn't want his homeys to think the big ole white house which is nowhere near as pretty as the pink house of Austin has changed him. It's a code word for us Texans, while the rest of the world can't look past looking down their nose at him.
