The goal of the Word Puzzle is to guess the phrase in as few tries as possible. I'd rather guess every letter and rack up the points. Anyone else feel the same?

Know where you are coming from, but its the only challenge you have on dial-up. If you just want points take the 500+ an hour on word rounds, its less exhausting

I have said this in other threads...I think the highest on teh leaderboard should also be getting the most points...but since #1 on teh leaderboard gets you 5000 or 7500 points (I've never gotten it, I am just remembering what someone told me), then it IS worth it to be in the top 3!

But if you can't make it into the top three, then I say go for all the points!

It is my understanding that a new scoring method is being formatted and will do a better job of rewarding players based on individual performance. It will also score you higher, the fewer wrong guesses you make.

I believe Word Puzzles should remain the one oasis on Sploofus where those of us stuck with dial-up can compete based just on accuracy, with time only a factor to break ties.

I agree with Playfulpelican. I too am on dial-up and haven't got a chance when it comes to speed.
