I'm going to Vegas in March for my anniversary and want to drop 10 pounds before I go. Other than the eat less, exercise more way, I would like to hear of any quick diets you all use when trying to drop a few pounds quick. I usually try to do at least a mile a day and cut my carbs. What about you? Any interesting ideas out there?

I eat lots of sugar-rich foods, drink sodas all day, and feast on fast-food...stay around 160 lbs....but this may not work for everyone. I'm going to Vegas in March also, celebrating singledom. oog

Crash dieting is unhealthy, even only for a few pounds. One of the best ways to lose weight quickly is change your exercise routine. For example...if your body is use to jogging or bike riding for a mile a day, it has become use to that activity, so instead of the jogging or riding, do something different such as play squash. Different muscles get used, you'll notice you'll sweat more, and possibly lose weight. DISCLAIMER: I am not a doctor, nor have I ever read of this. This is something that works for me.

If you drink alcohol, cut it out just for the few weeks that you have left before your Vegas trip.

Alcohol has *tons* of calories, and studies prove that it is all deposited on the belly ... hence, "beer belly".

.... and, NO fried foods. Just say No!

Ha Ha! Not at all!

I love a martini myself. I cut out martini's and french fries when I'm trying to shape up. I'm a personal trainer, so I know these things!

So basically, you're saying all I have to do is give up breakfast and those 10 pounds will come right off?

Danny, somehow you always know just the right thing to say. So you're saying that instead of going to Vegas 10 pounds lighter, I should go 220 pounds lighter? hahahahahaha

First let me say i know nothing about diets or healthy nutrition, but every once in a while I need a quick fat drop.

For quick weight loss, a low carb diet always seems to work for me, but it will come back fairly soon if you leave the diet. I like real food too much to stick to it. Plus, lack of time always steers me toward fast food or a microwave.

For Christmas this year I got myself a home delivery Zone Diet plan, which seems to allow some fat and taste in their food. Each day meals and snacks are delivered to my house and the food isn't half bad. Although I wouldn't say I'm overweight at all, the diet is really doing wonders in helping me tone and lose that soft padding that has found it's way to my creaking bones.

It comes out to about $30 a day which, if I add up what I would be spending on food, is only about $5 more per day or so.

The really great benefit though is the time I save, and I already have precious little to spare. No more cooking, no more washing dishes, no more food shopping.

Plus, I've completely lost the urge to stop by McDonald's for a quickie or eat a whole pizza for dinner. I've yet to begin exercising as much as I'd like but in 20 days I've lost about 10 lbs.

If I actually worked out more, I'm sure it'd be a lot more.

I think the best thing you can do is eat less and exercise more. (I don't enjoy either)

Good luck!!!

Thanks Noncentz: I might look into that just for S&G's. I wonder if they deliver to Idaho?
