Good for them. The big news is Wrigley Field will host a outdoor NHL hockey game January 1.

A record? Didn't one of those Big Red Machine teams send seven STARTERS?

Ken, If I recall correctly that happened in 1961, they were great. There was a sportswriter who eventually came to Chicago that got all the people in Cincinnati to stuff the ballot box. That writer's name was Bernie Lincicome. If I remember correctly (I was 16 at the time) they stopped fan balloting because of this. Didn't Griffey get voted on the team without having an at bat a few years back ?? It is the fans' game, let them vote, the world isn't fair, anyway.

Spacecat, that game scheduling is a real gamble. The last ten years' weather can be either 60 F or minus 15 F with three feet of snow. I've been going to Wrigley Field since 1951 and I hate it and the people who live around it. TV people have painted is the neighborhood friendly area we all want to see. What they don't talk about is the pickpocket rings, pimps, whores, car thieves, grifters and one of the "Worlds" biggest drug cartels right near in the friendly confines of good old WF. If Harry Caray knew half of this, he wouldn't have promoted like he did. Up until Major league basball made these toylike stadiums, Wrigley Field was a slaughter house to 75% of the pitchers who ever played there. Why do you think it's been 100 years without a championship, it's the park. The sad thing is they'll draw 3,000,000 a year forever. This hockey thing should be a joke, just watch, I will.

Exciting times in Chicago. Wouldn't it be interesting to have an all Chi Town series?

The 1958 Yankees hold the record with nine players in an All-Star Game.

Phitzy, being from Fla., I would think you were a Rays or Flying Fish fan. You're not from up here are you ? The Cubs need all the support they can get. We don't like the Mutz around here at all, especially after ' 69. I'm not talking dirty Smaug, am I?

even though I am a die-hard Cardinal fan I have picked the Cubs this year, they have a better team than the Cardinals

The Red Sox have 7 + The Manager. Red Sox v Cubs, could this be a taster for the World Series. Although I'm a Red Sox fan I have to admit the Cubs are going pretty. BTW, I voted for some Cubs in the ballot. Go A.L! Go Red Sox!

This ain't no stinkin' world series matchup. No way Boston gets past the Rays (don't you just want to say Rays)

Oh please! Do you really think the Rays can keep it up like this until the end of September. You know the Red Sox will be there though.

Now the Cubs are sending 8 to the All-Star game. Kerry Wood has a blister so can't pitch.
