I AM COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY ADDICTED...

...to the Who / Where am I games. It's completely unreal on how such a simple idea for a game has some much "fun" and "trivia" value.

Am I the only who is compulsive in checking this game?

You are only truly addicted if you check up in the middle of the night (i.e. 0300 AM) to see if there is a new one on the go. I missed getting the Chateau Frontenac from my home town by NOT doing this. All the best to everyone.

I love this game but frequently forget it exists. Back in the day, we also had one that played a snippet of a song. Now THAT one was fun. I hope it makes a comeback.

Yes, I also, do the Midnight Run, the 2 O'clock Check, and sometimes the 4 O'clock Check. It seems like once you get started searching you can't stop even when everything tells you to give it up. No wonder I've been losing sleep.

Eesus, I really miss the music game as well. That was fun.

My wife had been helping me with the Hollywood Masonic Temple game, and she told me at 12am EST that "she thought it had something to do with a lodge of sorts." I am truly at my best at 12am, and I completely dismissed her. She went to bed, and I told her I'd be in bed in a few minutes.

At 4am, I had finally solved the puzzle, and if I would have just listened to my wife, I would have had 3 further hours of sleep. Thank you for your well wishes and your congrats. I doubt it'll ever happen again for me

And yes, I have been up for 4 hours and I have been checking every chance I get. I anxiously await the song snippets. I hope that makes a comeback, too

I've gotten two of them, but there must be some google trick I'm missing out on because if it is a picture of a bridge or something I'm totally fu....sploofed.

To be honest, 99.9 percent of the time I don't know who/what it is even when it is solved.

I really don't look at them too much....I think they are ridiculously hard.

Smaug, I agree totally where the 'Who' is concerned - very difficult to research but what's your problem looking through several thousand bridge pictures?! Note in black book 'No stamina'!

I land on Sploofus twice a day and I immediately go to WTHAI. Never close in my guesses, and never get there in time on ones I might have gotten right. It's so much fun though! I'm thoroughly impressed with those who get the where?? so quickly. I really need to pay more attention to pictures, I guess.

We haven't had to put up one single hint since 2.0 was opened to all. Only one picture ever got to all 12 tiles! You guys are amazing! You are really keeping us hopping as we try to keep the queue filled with interesting and different photos!

And NO, we are not taking recommendations, but I do get a lot of ideas out of the quizzes and Trivia Squares I edit, plus some of the Platinum WPs (where is Namibia, anyway??)

Nancy, drunk on power, giggled from the floor. Jethro just said "It's the pig, me and the whore." Ayn shrugged.

John - I'm sorry you are unfamiliar with the WHOs, but of the last 10 there was some non-US representation:

Jethro Tull was an English agricultural pioneer
Ayn Rand was a Russian-born American novelist (sure, she's American now, but still...)
Eddie Aikau was a well-known Hawaiian surfer (Ok, that's the US, but just barely!)

but I know that there have been many Australian athletes, African political leaders, Indian actors, Europeans and South Americans. I'm a little hurt that you think we are being too US-centric when we are making a concerted effort to represent the many nations of the world. We may have MORE US figures overall, but then this site has a majority of US players. And US political figures, musicians and film stars are more widely known in other parts of the world then non-US figures are known in the US.

I'm with you, John, I don't even know who most of those people or places are even after they put the name up.

I like all of the other games on this site, but those are just too tough for me. But I usually look them up after they are done, so I learn something along the way.

I don't know about the other players who have guessed them, but all of the ones I have gotten except for (2) I have really had to search for by Googling and going through Wikipedia. Most of those I haven't heard of. Sometimes it requires a lot of time, and I think I'm silly for not giving up on some of them. It is fun, but tiring. It seems once you've put quite a bit of time into it, you just hate to give up. It helps if there's something revealed in the picture or square that clues you in as to what you need to be searching for.

John.. click on the highlighted link of the person's name on the right of the page (where is shows the answer and the player who revealed it)... it will take you to a wiki page on the person so you don't have to wonder who the heck it is anymore

I read the wiki page. "Schneebaum" is my new word for something so obscure no reasonably intelligent person should be expected to know it.

Maybe Tobias Schneebaum can go into Tuzilla's next Tree People puzzle? Schneebaum literally means "snow tree" in German, (schnee = snow; baum = tree).

I keep having disturbing dreams after that joke, of Jethro Tull standing on one leg playing the seed drill like a flute whilst Ayn Rand berates him for 'playing for other people instead of just for himself'. By now, Nancy Pelosi has already been already been garroted by Ayn, as a traitor to women, men, Democrats, Republicans and especially to Ayn Rand.

John, it was freakish timing. I logged back online late right after they gave the clue "The Village People would love this building" - so if you knew it was a YMCA building, Google does the rest.
