VOCABULARY TAKEN A HOLIDAY?

Life is never complete if you dont have something to grumble about.... and its that time of year when the vocabulary questions take a vacation apparently.
Last year I went a month in mid-summer without seeing one. This year It's 20 days and counting. All those birthday tokens still burning a hole in my pocket; I'm pretty much back to where I was on my birthday two months ago since I've only used up the one vocab question I had saved, and I think I've seen 2-3 in the next 40 days, none at all in the last 20 days.
When the vocab questions come back I expect to be asked obscure words about melanomas, sun tan oil, etc.

I finally used up all my tokens & naturally, I got 5 vocab questions in 10 days. Life is such a cruel joke at times Breaks my heart to just have to use them to get to the next wager token. Wish I could trade with you two, Barry & Donna. What a bummer

If I get one tonight it will be a shorter wait than last month, when I waited 26 days. It's hard to move up when you can't wager on your best category. REALLY bites to miss one you had to wait almost a month for, too.

I'd say the most frustrating and irritating part of the whole site for me is routinely having to wait three weeks for a category to come around (and I never EVER get three of those in a row like the triplets I had sitting in TWO other categories last week). I can't help but wonder if it's built into the program to recognize that a player only wagers one category and hold that one back to encourage wagering on others.

I know that's crazy conspiracy theory talk fed by weeks of disappointment and paranoia, but I can't help thinking there's someone laughing somewhere, and it sure as hell ain't here.

Vocabulary's my main category for wagering too and I've only had one recently. The first I'd had for maybe three weeks. Sometimes I wager on Science but I usually get a stinker but you can bet that if I don't wager it will be easy peasy.

I recently lost over one million points wagering on two vocabulary questions. That's a lot of points for me.

Exocotidae wasn't even one of them . I'm gun shy now. Take my vocabs- please.!

Is there a category about peppermint candies?

I lost that amount on a vocab last week. The word was so obscure, I was shaking my head. Every other time, it's a piece of cake! I waited about three weeks for that one too, felt pretty sorry for myself that day...

I have lost millions on my Sports Soup questions. I had a nice win streak for a while. It's the only category I'm brave enough to wager on.

I have one stashed for when I make it to the next level, as I plan on placing a wager. However, I did that a couple of weeks ago, and had a 30M-point haemorrhage when I answered it incorrectly.

This'un's the first I have seen in over 2 weeks, I think, maybe they all flew north for the winter?

Believe the "stupids" have set in with me. I have always been one who eagerly awaits the vocab questions but the last couple I have received had never heard of so I missed them as did not guess lucky. If hadn't "sucked" so badly at music would have exempted Sports-funny have actually been guessing fairly accurately on them. Lots of comments have been made about the questions of the day and the changes in them since the database enlarged as wll as some being editor written. Since it has been hashed and rehashed will not do so again but let my previous comment posted somewhere in "Salty Dog" stand. Linda

This kid in the # 18 car is another Gordon in the making, lotsa guts. Donna, isn't being a team owner like being a boss. I do like Tony, but is this what he really wants himself to do ??

Yes, Bill, it is. To him it's just another kind of race, maybe the ultimate race. He's had great success as an owner in other divisions, and he's made a huge success of Eldora Speedway, breaking attendance records with every event - in a recession - so I think he's up to the challenge businesswise; he's a smart guy, he's got plenty of money and he's taking Home Depot with him. I think he's just getting a jump on the next stage of his life, and others are doing the same. Gordon has a chunk of ownership in Hendrick's operation, Harvick and Junior both own major teams in the Nationwide division; all the top drivers who have the money to do it are looking to ownership as the next step. It's the shape of things to come and Tony's on the cutting edge. I gotta believe.

That 66 is gonna take some getting used to. Wonder if Justin will let me change my number?

Gibbs will put some rookie in the car.

How did this get to be a Nascar thread?

Back to Vocab - I've been getting nothing but and am now willing to give them away free, no trades necessary.
Anybody?

I have actually been doing better in other categories than vocabulary-most of the words never heard of before and used to consider yself pretty good in this area-said many times before and just for the record will say it again-believe the questions of the day depend mostly on lucky guesses in the vast majority of questions not true trivia knowledge if there is such a thing-in short believe a largenumber of them since the changes plain STINK!! No Vocab here either - how frustrating - and how busy I am not to have noticed - I for sure didn't block that one because it's the only one I'll wager one.

I was lulled into a false sense of security way back in the beginning with music - which I'm pretty good at - only to get a freaking rap question when I took the wager plunge.

Maybe that's what is happening - maybe we are being punished for hoarding and wagering only on vocabs?

I haven't taken it yet - will only do QOTD's at the office now because of how slow the site got after the merge out of beta - otherwise I always run out of time...I'll probably try to save it til I hit the next level so I can do a wager since I'm sinking in the 400's
