With a 52.3% hit rate.
It was a books question (my second favorite subject) so now I feel really small. At least no wager --though i have to admit I thought about it. But I'm obstinately holding out for Vocab...suspect they've run out.
A children's book I supect, which I've never heard of. Probably another anti-UK attack.....
But that is not the reason for writing, it was to ask what is the highest percentage question anyone admits to dialling out on?

I'm holding a Vocabulary question for my next wager...

Anyone got a sport question you'd like to trade?

Books and Lit is one of my better categories as well, but Monday I missed
a question that was answered correctly about 68 percent of the time.

What ticked me off was I had the cursor on the right answer, but then
thought, "No. It can't be that obvious." Then proceeded to pick a wrong

Lesson learned: TOotD aren't that tricky.

Now sitting on two vocab questions. Will probably wager eventually. Just
need to get in the mood.

I answered a question correctly that had been answered 11.3% WOO HOO!
Of course the very next day I blew one that had been answered 94% of the time

So far my book and authors qotds have been loaded with childrens books which I only know about if they're old like me. Really don't like it!

At the risk of redundacy-have to say this. Firmly believe the "how many" qquestions should not be allowed. Received one this am in Books and Authors asking for the number of volumes a particular author had written on a particular subect. I DO NOT think this is any kind of trivia as it involves only a luck or unluck gues-done now!! Linda

I've been getting Music and Musicians questions that only teens could answer. I'll take the Books questions, thank you very much.

I goofed up the other day ...It gave the singer's name and choices as to what type of music she sang. I KNEW it was country but I accidently clicked on rock. I even had wagered on the answer (now you have to understand that a big wager for me is 5,000 points!!)..

(picture me bringing my leg up behind me and kicking myself in the patootie!)

Currently I am at 23.6 with 2 wager tokens and 3 sports questions (favorite category). The past 3 times on Sports have bet the max and won. One of the sports questions expires tonight, so should one wager and risk going back to 23.0 or play it safe and surely by the time the other two sports questions are due to expire should be at the next level and one more wager token. To answer the question garrybl posed. Once on a max wager at level 4 i got a question incorrect that was over 95 % correct. Thought it was a trick question. Perhaps it is also time to start using my showdown tokens as well. Happy day to all.

I am reasonably well versed in literature, but the TQTD "Books" categories features a lot of crappy bestsellers -- as well as Harry Potter -- so I've never done as well as I thought I thought I should. I know I've missed a "Book" question that almost 80% answered correctly.

Same here. I didn't read kids books even when I was a kid, and neither did my kids. After Seuss, I'm clueless. The category does seem too heavy with kids' books and bestsellers, and would benefit by more questions from genre and classic literature, imho.

Spacecat: My advice is to answer the expiring question, don't wager, get it right anyway, and have no regrets as you take another step toward your next level.

I blew an 89% Physical Science question once. This was a few days after an editor/ quiz writer was bragging in the Shout that she wrote a question that was 3.4 %. I have answered a few around 10-15 % with uneducated guesses.

Sorry, I haven't been keeping track! It's too depressing! But I think I'll start from now on!

I hasten to say....this is NOT a question I BLEW
One day my TQOTD was
"how many hours are there in a day????"
Nearly fell off my chair when I read
only 98% got the answer right !!!!

We can but hope the other 2% "failed" based on timeout errors or the like.

And hopefully, some of them got the matter corrected, even if the question's stats didn't.

I write down TQOTD that I miss, so that hopefully I'll retain the information. I haven't really been keeping track of the percentages. I do recall that I once correctly answered a Vocabulary question and was a little surprised to see that it had been answered correctly only 7% of the time. This occurred fairly soon after I arrived on the island, and unfortunately, I didn't wager on the question.

Then I once had an extremely easy Books & Authors TQOTD. Prior to clicking on the "Display my Sploofus TQOTD" button, I told myself I wanted to try to improve my answering speed so I could get more bonus points. That was a mistake. I answered too quickly, clicked on the wrong e-bubble, hit ENTER, immediately realized what I had done, but alas, it was too late. I don't recall what percentage of people answered correctly, but I imagine it must have been at least 80%.

All in all, the latter experience was more valuable to me, i.e. I'd rather just be myself and answer slowly and correctly than be concerned with bonus points for speed.
