What a great puzzle.

Well done Foogs.

Agreed. Nothing tricky, and neat stuff to learn about these guys (and, perhaps gals...just none in my set)

I agree with everyone else. This was a well constructed puzzle with a lot of interesting and "trivial" facts.
Some really good clues helped. The title was superb.

Absolutely one of the best puzzle ever. Slightly googleable but only after you had a clue. Great, great clues Thanks for all the effort you must have put in to this.

Thanks for the nice compliments. Yes, there was only one woman. I considered
others -- Courtney Love, Michelle Phillips, Cyndi Lauper (all three have made
an impression as actors) -- but couldn't come up with a puzzle I liked.

The Puzzles:

boomtown rats vocalist bob geldof was made an honorary knight ("They aid humanity")
donald trump fired kiss demon gene simmons on celebrity apprentice ("They suffer reality")
motor city madman ted nugent is keeping his political options open ("They get conservative")
oingo boingo frontman danny elfman scored twelve films for tim burton ("They go to the movies")
midnight oils tall bald aussie peter garrett is a labor minister ("They enter politics")
bob dylan hosts his weekly theme time radio hour on xm ("They go on the radio")
grace slick now chases the white rabbit as a painter ("They change media")
queen guitarist brian may earned his phd in astrophysics ("They look to the skies")
margarita maven jimmy buffets memoir topped the bestseller list ("They go to number one")
shock rocker alice cooper hosts an annual celebrity golf outing ("They hit the links")

Really great puzzle & clues Knew 2 without a letter just a few for filler words. Now if that faulty proof reading thing hadn't reared it's ugly head I would have got a Top 5 I wonder how the results would change if so many of us could type, spell or proof read. Probably be a whole new ballgame. Never mind, I know from reading many posts I'm not alone in my DOH moments
